Concept art for a doll I plan to make in the near future. Her name is Akane Kuzu, and she is a Kitsune who attends Youkai High, the Japanese sister school to Monster High.
Her base doll will be a Frightfully Tall Clawdeen.

Need to make these into dolls
Thank u for the advice for removing the factory paont for my abbey doll! I looked at the acetone i was using and u were right, it was an acetone dilute. My boyfriend got me 100% acetone and it was much easier! Thank u!
Not a problem! I’m glad it worked out better for you!
I am waaaay more active on Instagram under the same username!

This is my first attempt at repainting and rerooting a doll. This is a 13 wishes abbey that i got for 3 dollars at walmart. I have all her bits and bobs, but her hair was in horrible condition right out of the box. Honestly it was more matted than it lools in the picture, as she had been sitting in what i call the bad doll box for a couple years. With her hair cut her face up was actually a lot cuter. In the 3rd pic u can see the weird glitter glue they put all over her body tho. I boiled the head and managed to get all the glue and hair out. Which im proud of. Wiping the face tho? :/ I got it a little better than this pic, but i spent a couple hours with aceton and qtips and paper towels and a magic eraser and i just got so angry at it. The glitter glue on her face liked the factory paint, and held onto it, tho the glue itself eventually fell to the eraser. I considered dunking it completely in aceton, but i think that shrinks it? So ive not. I also heard aceton was bad on the hard plastic body, so i dont know what ill do to get rid of the glitter on the rest of the body. The plan is to probably flock her head since i dont know if id be skilled enough to do a reroot sadly. Im not 100% sure yet tho, so she might get hair yet.
I used an Abbey for my Sally (NBC) doll and I sanded all the glitter off. It took a looooong time and the blue got paler when I did, but it’s really a very pretty blue once the glitter is all off. I left it kind of scratchy looking because I liked the look for Sally, but you can use a nail buffer to smooth out scratches caused by the sanding
Are you using 100% acetone or nail polish remover? I had that problem when I was using nail polish remover with acetone, but when I used 100% acetone the face paint came right off.
I finished Thorin Oakenshield! I am really proud of how he turned out, especially since he’s my first finished custom and my third repaint
Progress on Gigi’s faceup!
Going to take my time so I can do a good job on her face.
Once I’m done I can start creating a super floofy dress for her!
And her bonnet lol
Good reference art for Lusamine
She would make a freaking awesome doll
Thorin is starting to look more and more like Thorin. Now he just needs clothes and accessories so I can make his body look bulkier and his head will stop looking so large.
I can’t wait to see it all come together when I get the hair put on, but I am really loving my Thorin doll right now!! I’m going to have a hard time parting with it once I finish him!
Had to set Sally aside because I’m starting working on my sister’s Christmas present, Thorin Oakensheild! Only 24 days left to work on him! 😱😱
Just finished my repaint on Sally. So we’re watching Nightmare Before Christmas to celebrate lol. I’m going to set her hair better tomorrow since her gloss on her eyes and lips is still drying. Then I can start getting the stuff together to make her clothes.
Lucy went to the salon for a spa day today
I need to fix her hair again, but I just finished my first MH faceup! I have a lot to learn and improve on, but over-all I'm happy with it. Now I'm on to finish her outfit after I re-style and trim her hair.
While I'm waiting for my Mr Super Clear to come in, I decided to make my first MH clothes! It's a turtleneck sweater-dress. It was supposed to be a prototype for the real dress, but then I fell in love with this one. I really like the grey on her. I used the tutorial by YouTube's lovely Dollightful, to deconstruct the dress my Clawdeen came in and create a pattern. It was long and tedious but I will forever more be deconstructing and creating patterns from ALL clothes my to-be-modded dolls come it. Once I got the pattern made the dress itself was ridiculously easy to sew! I have a couple more things to do with it, like adding a snap in the back for the "belt" and adding a frey-guard to a couple areas, but otherwise it's totally complete!
Learned the hard way that Krylon does not work on MH dolls like it does on BJD dolls. It's weirdly textured, shiny, and watercolor pencils refuse to stick to it unless they are wet, which I don't like the look of. Oh well, I like the look of what I did so far but I broke down and ordered MSC, so I'll have to wipe her clean again and start over. Lessons learned.
FINALLY finished my first re-root! Looks really lion-y right now, but I poured some boiling water over her head and I've tied it down so hopefully it'll be less poofy in the morning.
