it’s always summer v winter bitches fighting for their life, where are the spring/autumn girlies, the moderate temperatures crowd, the transition period aficionados, the ‘sun is shining but the wind’s cold’ connoisseurs, the ‘decay and rebirth of nature’ devotees
they hate me for my flat facial expressions and inability to contribute to conversations
One of the uncomfortable tensions of being a university instructor and being on the internet is that students try to explain their use of AI for schoolwork with 'pressures on students have never been higher' but I have access to many decades' worth of syllabi and know for a fact that the standards to which universities hold students have never been lower. Especially after the pandemic, standards for reading, writing, and academic rigour all took a really obvious nosedive. Clearly people feel a lot of pressure - that I do not deny - but it's not because curricula have become harder. They haven't. They've become much easier.
I need these!

there is something so perfect. so emblematic of the pop culture landscape we live in. that for the next however long, the canonical ending of doctor who is that the doctor turns into billie piper for absolutely no fucking reason
i’ve just seen the craziest image
not using AI genuinely feels like the rest of the world is experiencing some kind of mass amnesia. if someone says they never use it, the immediate response is that can't be true because "everyone" uses it to write their emails or answer their questions. saw a comment suggesting that not using chatgpt to write an essay is "like the 90s". girl I graduated in 2021 and we weren't doing that! how is it that everyone has suddenly forgotten that they were entirely capable of doing these things all by themselves for their entire lives up until the past few years!! am I going crazy!!!
runner’s high but i should be winding down for bed ahhhhhhhhh
i love absorbing iwtv content exclusively from the dash because you could tell me literally ANYTHING was going on in that show and i'd be like that tracks with what i've seen. they're all actors in a play together. they had a lesbian daughter but there were custody issues and i think she died in a plane crash or something it's really tragic. one of them isn't even real he's just a long-term hallucination the other one has been having. they opened up their marriage to include a third guy who's hot and even more evil. the two guys and their third are all sleeping with a journalist who used to be young and is now old. after they got divorced one of them decided to reinvent himself as iggy pop and i think that's a perfectly fine way to cope.
guys iwtv (tv show) may slowly force me to keep reading anne rice….i read iwtv (book) last year and it was a slog for me and now i am seeing gifs that simply cannot all be from the same show
ok i absolutely need to know what accents u all have pls reblog and tell me or comment or whatever I must know
Real and growing possibility of him dying live on tv and nobody in the room noticing for minutes on end.

oh someone told me something useful yesterday. she said she’s been thinking about her tbr less as an overwhelming list of books she Must Read and more like she’s cultivating a wine cellar. making a rich collection that will provide the perfect thing when needed. a bottle will get uncorked when the time is right
easy to miss that one of the reasons maternal mortality is diminished so extremely by modern medicine is that modern medicine makes it so much more possible to identify the pregnancies that will die and take you with them, or are otherwise unacceptably high risk. and then discontinue those ones safely, before it's too late.
thought about this because it's so frustrating when people argue that 'dying in childbirth' is a historical sort of event that doesn't happen nowadays (false) and therefore is irrelevant to the legal status of abortion, since it's not a real danger.
except it super is, and i think a lot of people haven't noticed that this argument in addition to simply being incorrect is basically the same as when people say we don't need vaccines for deadly diseases because no one gets those now anyway.
like yeah one reason for that is we vaccinate everybody ffs.

This LEGO set is so cool!
also 2 separate people (adults) asked about my book today (the letters of sacco and vanzetti) and neither knew who they were…not that i recall covering that in depth in school but it was also not in the 10 Biggest Trials of the 20th Century book i was obsessed with in elementary school so i dont think this is niche knowledge…..
