"hey, bobby, ginger's kid came out to her as non-binerary! can you believe it?"
"non-binary."
"huh? wha? what'd i say?"
"you said 'non-binerary.' the word is non-binary."
"right. non-byrony."
"oh my god"
"ginger's gonna march with her kid in the parade next year! she's so excited!"
"she'll get to make signs... chant slogans..."
"you sound kind of jealous, lin."
"well, maybe i *am* jealous. maybe *i* wanna be a PFLAG mom."
"pee flag!!"
"gene."
"...kids, are any of you non-binary?"
"i respond to both 'attaboy' and 'you go, girl!'"
"i'm whatever gender gets the coolest happy meal toys."

Welcome to the City
The founding of a new city is always a sight to behold, and a great opportunity for budding City Planners like yourself. Compete against opponent planners and do your best to achieve the goals City Hall sets out for you!
Byelaw is a new homemade TCG for 2-4 players where you each take the role of competing City Planners. Lay out your buildings in a way that appeases the City’s government to gain Victory Points and plan events to disrupt the plans of your opposition.
This is the development log, where I aim to provide insight into the design of the game, and keep you updated with the latest developments and challenges the game is facing.
Currently, the game is in very early days, and as you can see, most of the cards don’t have any art yet! The plan is to add temporary images for each card in the next main version. This should help with memory issues faced by players learning the game.
Feel free to give us a follow, or join us over on discord where semi-regular playtests are run through Tabletop Simulator. Just hop in, and give yourself the Byelaw role: https://discord.gg/tmJtWyGVTF
Thanks everyone for the opportunity to share my little project with you all!
its me i made this
After a couple of weeks of hard and boring back-end set up, the game now understands the concept of taking a turn, and interacting with objects for selection purposes. Definitely not the coolest bit of progress, but the biggest bit of framework is set up.
This means I can start actually implementing interesting things like damage, combat maths and interesting effects.
I’m here!
So, it’s been a while, eh? I dunno if anyone on here is still around to read this but looking back on this blog, a lot has happened. In the last however many years, I managed to snag myself a job in the games industry! Not quite building games, but coding backend services for them. Still!
This does mean I’ve been practicing and had my fair share of projects since then. I might go through them one day if there’s interest.
However, I did come back to show what I’m working on at the moment.
What started out as this at the beginning of the project…
…is now looking something like this.
I’m currently in the process of building a bit of UI and to actually allow you to control this little thing. But overall think of a cross between an SRPG like Fire Emblem and a classic RPG like Pokémon.
Any questions?
I think my menu system is channelling Crash Bandicoot a bit too much...
Meet my first character!
It’s at home on the counter
Hi everyone!
It’s been a long time, eh? This is actually a completely different project than the one previously mentioned on this blog (but to be fair it has been like 3 years).
This is the start of a turn based racing game! I’m excited to see where it goes.
