I know most of her songs are in some POV but this is the first time she's ever made a love song. I remember that she mentiomed she finds love songs difficult because she hasn't been in love in a long time

In her recording studio, the song being played for the first time in my ears, YN is fighting her tears. She's embarassed but laughs it off and briefly it's a callback to receiving her first Grammy. "I'm kinda stupid emotional about it," she says. "It's a sad song but not really. Because my feelings... A/N a short blurb because the idea came to me randomly lol

WARNING not thoroughly edited so there may be spelling or grammar errors !

ever since y/n had caught the attention of the kpop industry, especially when they found out the girl had a background in dance, her management team consistently received requests for dance challenges. y/n most of the time filmed these during race weeks, on media day or in her free time. since she was traveling most of the time, she’d be dancing by herself in her hospitality suite.

y/n was really only extroverted to an extent, not wanting to bring attention to herself all the time, especially since she was in the spotlight most of the time. so when her management suggested she film elevator by baekhyun with the monaco paddock in the background because it would “look aesthetic”, y/n wanted to run away. so here she was, her manager holding a small speaker, a member of the social media team holding the phone, and other staff around to keep the area somewhat cleared.

“ok y/n do you want to do a quick practice run?” y/n was glancing around, trying to see if any of her fellow drivers were around.

“no! let’s just film it!” nodding, her manager began playing the music. y/n bouncing on her feet as she ran through the choreo in her head.

she honestly loved the song and choreo, finding it fun and something that could be stuck in your head for days. after recording a couple more times, y/n was watching the last take when she heard someone jog up to her.

“y/n you gotta teach me that!” ollie excitedly said, doing little movements that mimicked the choreo she was doing.

kimi was behind him, purely there to watch the impending disaster. y/n just shrugged turning to her management to tell them the takes they filmed were good.

“and maybe film me teaching ollie, good content for the red bull account.” she winked, everyone laughing.

so here she was, trying to teach ollie the arm movements.

“wait how do you move your shoulders like that.” the poor boy trying to keep up.

whereas kimi also used this opportunity to record it for content for mercedes.

“and here we have y/n trying to teach ollie, who has two left feet, how to dance.” commentating as y/n laughed every time ollie tripped.

the two ended up recording the dance challenge as well, y/n teaching ollie a simpler choreo baekhyun’s team had also sent her. y/n posting it on her account as well later that day captioned the bear indeed cannot dance.

early june, in canada for the week, y/n was filming a couple of challenges that day. different by lesserafim, lemon drop by ateez, and killin it girl by jhope. except this time she had a bit more of an audience.

max, charles, and george sitting in front of her like proud dad’s waiting to record their daughter's first dance recital. while y/n was talking to her staff about which to dance challenge to record first. lewis was about to fly by on his scooter when he saw the small group, growing curious about what was happening.

“what’s the crowd for?” he asked, seeing the trio with phones in hand and eyes locked on y/n who was stretching.

“we’re watching y/n do kpop dance challenges.” charles replied, phone ready to record his own fancam.

“oh, cool.”

so as y/n recorded each dance challenge, the four recorded their own fancams that they would also post to instagram like fan accounts. f1 and kpop fans alike loved it, finding the interaction to be adorable.

the latest encounter being in singapore, where y/n was just filming random challenges for fun. she somehow convinced the mclaren duo to do a relatively simple dance challenge together. just know y/n had to bribe both with kinder eggs and timtams respectively.

later that day, photographers caught y/n with the oldest driver on the grid doing this challenge, fernando seeming to take it completely serious while y/n laughed during almost every take. doing it a couple times before getting the “perfect” take as fernando called it, posting it to the orbr instagram caption just two of the cutest drivers on the grid - sorry max!

and in brazil y/n saw the williams and alpines happened to be sitting together, so she ran over left her phone in front of them and doing the rat dance challenge she saw earlier that day. she watched franco get up to try and copy her, the poor boy - just like ollie - having two left feet and falling making everyone burst out laughing. y/n quickly grabbed her phone, replaying the moment to her fellow drivers around them who couldn’t stop laughing at franco’s failed dance moment.

“because you’re insufferable.” you bite back

“because you think your childhood best friend hot.” max teases.

you let out a mortifying groan while max laughs at your misery. “i’m gonna hang up.” you sigh out.

“you won’t.” he challenges.

“it’s not like you’ll be able to stop me.”

“yeah i can actually.” he says, getting serious. “because if you hang up, i can’t say that i’ve been waiting on you to notice..”

everything inside you go still—in fact it’s like the world has gone still. he’s been waiting? on you? to notice his looks? max verstappen? no this can’t be right.

“..max” you mumble after what feels like eternity.

“yeah?” he stumbles out.

“you’re an idiot,” you breathe out

“yeah,” he pauses. “but i’m your idiot”.

you swallow, a smile forming across your face despite your heart beating at 100 miles per hour. “whatever.. maybe i liked the hair.”

“and the suit” he adds on

“when did you get hot” you blurt out over the phone.

your mind keeps replaying the las vegas post-race footage—the cool-down room interview, the messy hair, the way he pulled his gloves off with that stupid confidence he definitely didn’t have when you were teenagers.

it silence from his end.. loud.. humiliating silence.

“holy shit i didn’t mean to say that oh my god-“ you groan, pressing the pillow against your face. “forget i said that, it’s stupid, i’m so sorry—“

“no” max’s voice cuts in. “say it again,”

your heart stops. “max—“

“no i’m serious. say it again.”

you can hear the stupid smile forming on his face. you rolls your eyes as if he could see you. “i hate you.”

“liar.” max snickers. “what part made you realize? the hair? the suit? the interview? be honest, i need to know what’s working.”

you want to throw your phone against the wall and choke the shit out of him at the same time but this is, of course, a phone call. “i hate this conversation.”

“because you’re embarrassed.” he sings out

“because you’re insufferable.” you bite back

“because you think your childhood best friend hot.” max teases.

you let out a mortifying groan while max laughs at your misery. “i’m gonna hang up.” you sigh out.

“you won’t.” he challenges.

“it’s not like you’ll be able to stop me.”

“yeah i can actually.” he says, getting serious. “because if you hang up, i can’t say that i’ve been waiting on you to notice..”

everything inside you go still—in fact it’s like the world has gone still. he’s been waiting? on you? to notice his looks? max verstappen? no this can’t be right.

“..max” you mumble after what feels like eternity.

“yeah?” he stumbles out.

“you’re an idiot,” you breathe out

“yeah,” he pauses. “but i’m your idiot”.

you swallow, a smile forming across your face despite your heart beating at 100 miles per hour. “whatever.. maybe i liked the hair.”

“and the suit” he adds on

“.. and the suit,” you whisper.

max exhales, like a weight has been lifted off his chest. “good. next time, i’ll try to look even better,”

“for the cameras?” you tease

“for you.”

Key points. this is hot ass LMFAOOO. i was working on the alex & lily fic while listening to sabrina carpenter “when did you get hot” & got sidetracked and came out with this. please be nice to me.. LET ME KNOW IF IT MAKES SENSE!! again, this isn’t proofread. constructive criticism is always nice!! i tried to be inclusive by going gender neutral, as well as writing this with no race in mind for the reader.
