It’s really hard to be happy on his birthday when he’s going away at the same time. I know we should have been prepared for this, since we knew they were planning on leaving at roughly the same time for quite a while now...
but let’s face it, we’re never actually ready for it when the time comes, are we?
So we all have to get ourselves together just enough to make this birthday a good one for him, right? He’ll be back before we know it. Hyukkie too.
That said...
big smiles, everybody!
see! Look! It’s Donghae being adorable!
and it’s the D&E Octopus hug!
okay this one is a bit erotic. Sorry not sorry
idk they’re dorks.
Iprom15eScenarios’ Donghae Selection:
Sweeter With Time (fluff)
Breakup Song (angst, based on “Breakup Song” by Pixie Lott)
Dark Under the Lamp, parts one, two, and three. (historical scenario, one of my favorites <3 )
Lucky Guy (fluff)
Purple-ish Blue-ish Brown-ish (fluff)
And Chaos Ensues (cute accidents happen)
A Brief Interruption (smut... with a lot of notes, wow)
And that’s all for our precious fishy! Let’s all wish him the best on both his birthday and his military service! Nighty-night, ELF!
are you busy ? because I was just wondering when will you post scenarios and stuff
I know, I know, it's been a while, and I apologize for that. To be honest, it's not so much that I'm busy so much as unmotivated. Actually I've got lots of free time on my hands-- it's just that no matter how much I try, I can't seem to get my heart into writing anything. It got better after the Devil album arrived, but since I was also behind on my fanfiction on Wattpad, I worked on that. I had an entire chapter all typed up, but just when I was about two paragraphs from publishing the chapter, an accident happened and the whole thing was deleted. T.T After that, the idea of writing the whole thing over again is extremely unappealing. But I can't move on until I've worked through it.I know it sounds like a whole bunch of excuses, but I really can't write anything if my heart's not in it. It's like trying to build a birdhouse with my eyes closed. In the end, I can't really say when I'll be able to write scenarios again. But I will do so eventually. I'm doing the very best I can, and really WANT to keep putting smiles on everyone's faces. In the meantime, I can only ask everyone who's made requests to just remain patient.
hoo boy, here comes some serious talk about fandom mentality.
I feel like there’s a huge failing on readers’ parts to communicate to fic authors how much they appreciate their works or how much it affects them, unless the fic is “fandom famous” for some reason. sometimes it gets translated into demands (which are awful literally do not demand updates from an author ever).
more often than not, it gets translated into silence, and coming from a writer, the silence is probably the worst. you never know if they like it, you never know what the reader actually thinks about it. or even if they read it at all. and it’s… heartwrenching, and nervewracking and you start constantly questioning yourself and wondering if you’re actually good enough or if you belong. and you start comparing yourself. to the people who are popular, to the people with huge followings, to the people who get questions and art and compliments up the wazoo. and you start wondering if you should have bothered writing at all. in some cases you start begging. and in some cases, you do worse.
and it’s terrible. a writer shouldn’t have to beg. a writer shouldn’t have to only get attention when they’re frustrated or upset. a writer shouldn’t have to doubt themselves every time they pick up a pen or open their laptop. a writer should never feel so unimportant that they consider deleting their work–and do. and then be subjected to questions of why they deleted it.
(which, by the way, is kind of a rude thing to do. it’s their content, and they can do with it whatever makes them comfortable. and more than that–why wait until it’s gone to just suddenly unleash your appreciation for it?)
if, at this point, you are thinking, “well, writers shouldn’t write for attention anyway! writers should be writing for themselves!” then you are missing a Very Huge Point about the intricacies of and emotions behind creating art. of course art comes from the self, but art is meant to be shared. with people. like you. art is created for people to talk back to, to engage with, to live alongside–and yes, that in turn bolsters the creator’s own securities and motivation. it’s also a sad testament to the fact that we as a people have come to condemn the notion that anyone,
especially content creators, should want attention at all.
and that’s toxic, and an awful mentality to have. (it’s also atrocious marketing. but, that’s another discussion for another time.)
what I’m trying to say here is this: a lot of this could be prevented by one simple thing. if you read a fic you like, *speak up about it.* make some kind of sign. about whether you like somebody’s work, or whether it excites you. reblog it to share with other people, gush in the tags, leave a comment/review if it’s on ao3 or ffn. (authors read tags as much as artists do, trust me.) kudos and likes are fine too, but like with any other kind of art, they’re very invisible. be vocal, y'all. spread the love.
and above all, *tell the author directly.* send them an ask, write a comment, tag them in an appreciation post. I can’t stress that enough. you’d be making someone’s day, relieving some securities, visible or not, instead of being complacent in this system, this mass way of thinking, that only popular writers deserve attention, that it has to be earned through working yourself raw instead of asked for. it causes these cliques and hierarchies and ultimately people start or keep maintaining this idea that people who are at the top deserve to be at the top, and people who get ignored deserve to be ignored. (which I have, in fact, heard people say, and that’s… I don’t even have a word for that.)
I just. something has to give, you guys. we have to stop doing this. we have to stop letting this happen. we have to be kind to our writers before they disappear.
and yes, you can reblog this post. in fact, I’d highly encourage it.
I think this is a very important point to make. To be honest, likes and reblogs are nice, but a 20 notes means nothing next to a single message saying that you liked it, or what you enjoyed about it.
Comments are what make me excited to write. I know I haven’t been writing much, but when I do, I put a lot of thought and emotion into every single piece, and it is a bit disheartening when it gets little to no response.
I don’t want to guilt trip you guys or anything. You’ve all been lovely. But it would be nice if you were all just a bit louder. <3
Lol this is me in my natural state (no makeup, wearing summer clothes, and zebra-stripe glasses) XD I was too excited to get my album to wait! Since I got it from Kpoptown (I highly recommend it for international fans!), there was a poster, too!
Anyway, I was happy to find that my photocard is...
YESUNG!
I don’t think I would’ve been all that disappointed with anyone else, though. I love them all equally. :P (Well, Zhou Mi and Sungmin a little bit more, but neither of them would have come in this album T.T)
So have any of you got the album? What’s your favorite song? What photocard did you get? Let’s get a post stream going!!!
Hello! I just wanted to let you know how much I love reading "A Single Turn Of the Wheel" !!! *A* It was superb! I adored every bit of it! It was lovely, magic and beautifully written! Is there any chance you will write something similiar? Maybe inspired by Kyuhyun's musical (The days or Robin Hood) ? Again, thank you so much for writing such amazing fictions <3
I’m glad you liked it!!!!!!! It’s one of my favorites and I’m really proud of it <3 <3 <3
As always, I have no problems writing any scenarios you guys request, so long as it’s when requests are open! So it’s not impossible for you to see something like that in the future!
For the time being, I am currently suffering from a form of writer’s block in which I can’t seem to summon up any emotions when I write, so everything seems flat. T.T
But I just got my Devil album in, so maybe that will change!
AAAAAHHHHH I ALMOST FORGOT TO POST ABOUT HEENIM’S BIRTHDAY!
I was caught up watching Shark Week, I’m so sorry! And with the Devil album coming out so soon!
Let’s see what we’ve got for the craziest guy in Super Junior!
Apparently Heechul is pretending to tolerate us.
...I don’t even know what to say
Heechul being affectionate?
fabulous Lady Heehee
Focus on Heechul in the front here, not even bothered by the blast of air.
Seriously, this man is too fabulous.
And that’s it for gifs! I’m surprised I don’t have more, considering how entertaining Heechul is. Anyway, on to scenarios!
Iprom15eScenarios’ Heechul Selection:
You Bastard (It’s not really angst. It’s kind of fluff, I guess?)
Cafe Corner (Funny Fluff)
Until We’re Together (Halloween Special-- not scary. Bittersweet. One of my proudest works. Also, there’s an epilogue)
As always, please continue to wish Kim Heechul all of the happiness in the world, and try to respect his choices! He’s a really valuable member of SuJu, and part of the reason I fell in love with the group.
Now, let’s all wait for the DEVIL album to come out! If you can, preorder it! Although I already did...
Let’s continue to always love and support our boys, hopefully for another ten years!
This is for the anon who wanted an “angry diva Heechul” scenario!
It seems that at least the diva part is Heechul 100% of the time anyway, so it’s not really a stretch to write it, hahaha. I hope you like it!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You look around the set for the show, with all its colors and equipment and staff members running around. Of course, no matter how much you prepare for these things, there’s always something you didn’t plan for, and so things always go wrong, one after another.
And as far as “things you just can’t plan for” go, Kim Heechul is #1 on the list.
Already today you’ve had to deal with ripped skinny jeans, a late costume delivery, and an unfortunate incident involving a bucket of bright pink paint. And the show hasn’t even started.
So you aren’t surprised when you hear the arguing.
“Heechul-shi, we just want you to blend in with the other members... at least a little! I know sticking out is your style, but we were going for a coordinated look...”
“I don’t want to!” Heechul shouts at the staff member trying to coerce him. The staff member in question was holding a blue-grey suit jacket over his arm, while Heechul stood with his arms crossed, looking stubborn.
You sigh and rub your temples. It’s annoying but hardly surprising. Heechul being stubborn about something seemingly ridiculous is a fairly regular occurrence.
“What’s the problem?” You can hear the stage manager asking. And then the staff member explained that while everyone else was wearing sedate colors, looking sophisticated, Heechul insisted on wearing the attention-grabbing red and black jacket that was still around his shoulders.
“Please, Heechul? We just want everything to go smoothly for the sake of the performance... Really, it’s just a jacket... although it would be nice if you cut your hair, too...”
“I don’t want to!” You can hear Heechul shout back. Really, he had no respect for authority... but the worst problem was his complete lack of fear.
“Really, Heechul-shi, you’re being unreasonable...” both of them are getting increasingly frustrated, but they were doing their best to reason with him.
“And my hair is fine, see!” Heechul flips his hair dramatically, an effect that is, honestly, quite fetching on him. “I just want to stick to my own style. And my fans like the eccentricity.”
The stage manager turns around and finally sees you. “Hey! Can you come here and convince him to change?!”
You look up, a bit surprised. “Who, me?”
“Of course! You’re his stylist, aren’t you?”
You half-chuckle, muttering, “that means nothing with Heechul.” He had a tendency to wear whatever he wanted, despite what was actually set out for him. Something about hating it when people borrowed his clothes, and having a “simple and crazy” image.
Crazy was easily visible, but you weren’t all that sure where the “simple” part came in.
But you walk over anyway, frowning. The staff member explains the issue, while Heechul just looks at himself in the mirror and takes out his phone to send a text, presumably to one of his many celebrity friends.
“He never listens to anyone but you,” she finishes exasperatedly, before quickly shoving the jacket into your arms and walking away quickly.
You grab Heechul’s arm and wrench him around so that he’s looking at you. You can hear the stage manager gasp, but you know that begging Heechul to do anything he didn’t want to was like talking to a brick wall.
“Hey, you bastard! Stop making trouble for people! You’re an adult, act like one!”
More gasps.
You shove the jacket into his arms. “Now put this on before you waste any more of my time. I’ve got close to ten other people to worry about. Stop worrying about your appearance, put away your phone, and worry about your dongsaengs! Everyone puts in a lot of effort for a good performance! So just put on the jacket and stop acting like such a diva, got it?!”
It’s suddenly very quiet in the area around you, and you can feel lots of pair of eyes on you, including Heechul’s.
Finally he shrugs off the red-and black jacket and takes the blue-gray one from you, sliding it on.
You sigh. “Honestly, Heechul. You don’t need to dress different from everyone else just to get attention. You do that plenty well with just your personality. And forget about your hair-- it’s not important. If you like it, then keep it, so long as you keep it styled.”
“I like that jacket,” he grumbles, making a face at you, “a fan gave it to me.”
Of course, all of this is because he wanted to make a fan happy. Typical Heechul, actually a sweetheart, but presents himself as an asshole.
You fix his collar, then pinch his cheek and shake his head back and forth viciously. “Then wear it for one of your individual schedules, you brat!” You let go and he stumbles backwards, holding his cheek. “No one said you can’t wear it, just not now.”
His face breaks into a smile, and he nods, half-bows, and then runs off to join the group.
“Seriously,” you mutter, turning back around to a group of adoring staff members. “What?” you ask.
“How did you DO THAT?!” they squeak.
You shrug. “Begging doesn’t really work on Heechul. If anything, it makes him more stubborn. You’re much better off insulting him until he does what you want. He likes that.”
You walk by, kind of enjoying the mix of admiration and confusion in their eyes.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Like I said, pretty short!
I think Heechul isn’t really an unreasonable person, you just have to be really direct with him. I think he’s much more comfortable with people who are really impolite with him, hahahaha. That’s kind of where I took this.
Also, idk if I managed to get this, but I tried to make the “you” character more gender-neutral. You’re a stylist, but so what? You can be whoever. I’ll try to do this more often, if I think it works for the scenario.
So it’s kinda sorta our favorite mother duck’s birthday!
It’s only kinda sorta Leeteuk’s birthday, because although for me it’s still only July 1st, most of the world has already moved on.
But we will celebrate anyway!
Most of this will be a repeat of last year, but we have some new scenarios to add to the list! Please let me know if you have some new ideas about how to celebrate the boys’ birthdays!
Here we have Leeteuk’s hips going crazy
And here we have a bored Ahjusshi being adorkable.
he’s still a cutie though
And this is how we feel every time one of the boys goes into the military
I’m really not sure what he’s doing here. Laughing, I think?
Well, apparently our ducky leader has seen something he doesn’t like. Maybe someone reminded him how old he was getting!
Iprom15eScenarios’ Leeteuk Selection
Bruises (fluff)
You Fool (another fluff--April Fools’ Special)
Baby Talks (mostly fluff?)
Life with Jungsoo-Oppa (fun older brother scenarios)
Impatient (smut)
Little Brats (One of my most popular fluffs)
Petrichor (bittersweet)
A Christmas Wish (Part One, Part Two, A Wish for the New Year)
A Leader, Among Other Things (KangTeuk fluff)
Wow, look how many scenarios he has! And I think there’s probably more in the form of requests I haven’t written yet...
I’ll get around to working on that soon, since I’ve written a few chapters of my story recently, and just finished two anime. So it’s time for work!
This is for the anon who wanted a scenario where Leeteuk notices that you’re hiding bruises under makeup and clothing.
Hope you’re still out there, since this request was from January! Enjoy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You fan your face with your hands as you walk up to the counter at the cafe. It’s mid-June, already the beginning of summer, and you’re doing your best to deal with the sudden heat by wearing a pair of capris and a t-shirt, but it’s still just too warm for you.
Leeteuk smiles at you from behind the counter. “Oh hey, you’re back.”
You shrug. “I’m here every day. And you know that. You’re only pretending you don’t.”
He chuckles. “You got me.” Then he straightens up, deciding to focus on the job at hand. “So what can I get you?”
“Anything with ice and lots of caffeine,” you reply to him. You really weren’t prepared for this heat wave, and when you add training on top of that, you’re about ready to keel over. Something hot was definitely out of the question.
“Alright. Iced Latte with an extra shot it is.”
He grabs a cup from the stack, carefully writing your name on it. He doesn’t have to ask, of course, considering the regularity of your visits. As he hands it down the line, he looks up at you, his eyes travelling from your face to your shoulders, before landing on the particularly nasty yellow-green bruise on your upper right arm. He frowns, and you follow his gaze to the bruise.
Time to celebrate the aging of Kim Ryeowook, with his beautiful cheekbones and baby face. And his sassy mouth, heeheehee. We’ll celebrate this in our usual fashion, with gifs and a report of all of the Ryeowook scenarios that Prom15ingScenarios has to offer! here goes!
I have this saved as “Well, okay then”
Wookie rocking the middle parted hair
Wookie as a pretty Elsa!
This one is my favorite, because it makes me giggle every time I see it. :P
And sadly that’s all I have for gifs!
Iprom15eScenarios’ Ryeowook Selection:
The Magic of Disney (fluff)
A Bite of Love (another fluff)
There isn’t too much for our Wookie... but I only have as many scenarios for him as you guys request. So next time requests open, make sure you keep this birthday boy in mind!
As always, please continue to support Kim Ryeowook and all of our boys!
This is for the anon who wanted a scenario where Leeteuk notices that you’re hiding bruises under makeup and clothing.
As he hands it down the line, he looks up at you, his eyes travelling from your face to your shoulders, before landing on the particularly nasty yellow-green bruise on your upper right arm. He frowns, and you follow his gaze to the bruise.
“Where did you get that? It looks pretty bad...” he asks you, a bit shyly. You chat pretty often like this, since it’s usually not all that busy at the time in which you drag yourself through the door for some caffeine.
“Oh, this? It’s mostly faded already. I had a nasty encounter with a particularly vicious flying squirrel,” you answer, grinning at him.
“That’s not--”
The barista further down the counter calls out your name, interrupting him, and you wink at him and walk over to pick up your drink. You put the straw in your mouth and wink at him while you suck up the cold, bitter liquid.
You turn and wave over your shoulder, heading towards the door. “See ya, Leeteuk!”
When you’re out the door, in the obnoxious summer heat, you sigh heavily. The frown he’d given you while looking at the bruise was a bit disturbing. He’d looked worried about you.
What had he been thinking? Did he think that you were in an abusive relationship? That you’d been mugged?
Impossible. You're single, for one thing. And for another, what you do every day is much more terrifying than getting mugged.
You’ve seen plenty of flying squirrels, you think as you walk down the sidewalk, quickly drinking up your iced latte.
Still, you don’t really want Leeteuk worrying about you. There’s not really anything you can do about the bruise on your shoulder, since he’s already seen it, but you can do your best so he doesn’t see the other ones, or any that are sure to form in the future.
~
The next day you drag yourself to the cafe again, shortly before closing time, yawning tiredly. The summer heat is even more oppressive than the previous day, with the added humidity showing the promise of an incoming storm. But that’s not what makes you feel so overheated. Instead, it’s the long-sleeved shirt and full-length jeans that contribute to the flush in your cheeks as you approach the counter.
“Something iced with a lot of caffeine?” Leeteuk asks, with a bit of a laugh.
“Yup. I’m aiming to get a heart attack today. Don’t tell me how much caffeine is in it. I don’t want to know,” you yawn, leaning heavily on the counter. Your legs ache, and your arms might as well be made of jello for how useful they are.
“Mind if I join you once your drink’s done? They really don’t need me during cleanup.”
You’re a bit surprised by the question, but shrug and nod anyway. “Why not? I don’t have anywhere to be right now.”
As soon as the baristas finish your drink, they begin the closing procedures, and Leeteuk steps out from behind the counter to sit at a table with you, only instead of a coffee all he has is a glass of water.
“You look really warm,” he comments as he sits down. “Are you feeling all right?”
You shrug, a gesture that you seem to do a lot around Leeteuk. “It’s this damn heat. Just sucks the energy right out of you.”
He frowns again, but you only see it for a second before his usual blank smile returns. “Well then why don’t you wear shorts and a t-shirt, like most people? It’ll make you feel better.”
You stick your tongue out at him over the straw. “I don’t feel comfortable showing that much skin in public. Try again later if you want to see my fantastically toned body.”
He laughs, and you feel a bit of the tension leave your shoulders. Good. He doesn’t seem too worried.
~
A week later, you arrive at the cafe as usual, and this time when Leeteuk sees you, he seems surprised. “You look nice today. I never see you with makeup on.”
You smile leisurely, waving the comment away. “We had a big presentation at work today. Supposed to look pretty for the investors, you know.”
When he sits down at your table after your drink is done, something that seems to have become a bit of a tradition over the past week, he looks out the window, and then at the umbrella leaning up against your chair. “It’s raining pretty hard outside, isn’t it?”
“It’s better than the heat,” you answer. You’re still wearing all of the full-length clothes, but it’s a bit more bearable today than the sticky heat of the previous week.
“I guess so,” he answers vaguely before staring at you intently.
“What?” you ask self-consciously.
“Are you sure you’re alright? There’s a dark spot on your cheek.”
You’re startled. How did he notice that? You’d checked it a thousand times before you left work to make sure the bruise was all but invisible. Maybe the dampness of the air had made the foundation fade a bit?
You laugh, coming up with a cover on the fly. “hahaha, I accidentally used the wrong foundation. I thought I got it all with the remover, but I must have missed a spot. As you already said, I don’t wear makeup that often.” And then, under your breath, “you’re awfully perceptive, Leeteuk-shi.”
He continues frowning at you, and you lean forward, hoping to say something, anything, to wipe that frown off of his face. You like his smile. It’s a good half of the reason you always come into this particular cafe.
Before any words leave your mouth, though, he says, “If it really makes you uncomfortable, you don’t have to tell me... but... I worry about you. I know you’re trying to hide the bruises, and it’s probably because you don’t want me to worry about you, but... I still can’t help but notice. I just want to know that someone isn’t hurting you. I’ll be a lot happier if I know why you’re getting hurt all the time.”
You stare at him for a really long time before putting your drink down and sighing. Looks like you can’t hide it from him anymore. “Leeteuk-shi, have I ever told you where I work?”
He leans backwards, seeming surprised by the seemingly unrelated question. “No... why?”
Cat’s out of the bag. “I’m a karate instructor for high belts. The dojo is only a couple of blocks away. I come here after work, which usually involves getting punched and kicked a lot.”
“So the bruises...?”
“They’re from sparring. I’m not in an abusive relationship. I just have a lot of very talented students.” You chuckle, taking a sip. “One of which, incidentally, is nicknamed ‘flying squirrel’ because she’s tiny and adorable, but also known for doing flying leaps to try to take you down. Which is entirely improper Karate form, but she’s never been much of a listener.” You laugh again, looking up at him. “So I wasn’t lying when I said that bruise on my shoulder came from an encounter with a flying squirrel. Not exactly.”
“A... karate instructor...” he breathes, still obviously shocked. But then finally he laughs, and you can see his muscles relax. “I never had any idea! I was afraid you had an abusive boyfriend...”
You shake your head, pushing your cup aside. “Although an abusive boyfriend isn’t a good boyfriend, you still need to have a boyfriend for him to be abusive.”
He blinks. “Wait... what?”
You laugh, rolling your eyes. “What I mean is, I don’t have a boyfriend at all, let alone an abusive one.”
He leans back even further, closing his eyes. “Ah... you don’t have a boyfriend... that’s a relief.”
You raise an eyebrow. “A relief?” You pause, considering. “By the way, Leeteuk-shi, how did you notice all of those little things, to get you so worried about me?”
He sits up, blushing, suddenly not meeting your eyes. “I... um...”
“You’re over thirty years old, Leeteuk-shi. You can do this.”
“I... like... you.”
You blink, hiding your smile behind your hand. “Oh really?”
“Yeah. And so... I can’t help but notice whenever anything’s different about you.”
You feel the pink in your cheeks deepen. “W-well then... if that’s the case... maybe we can go somewhere once the rain lets up.”
“We? You mean together?” He asks, sitting up rapidly.
You release your smile, looking at him directly. He’s adorable. He’s a dork, but he’s adorable.
“I deal with vicious flying squirrels on a daily basis. I think I can handle a date with you.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Idk if this is exactly what you were going for when you requested this, but it’s what popped into my head when I started writing it, heeheehee. I feel like our ducky leader is still a bit weird around girls. I could be wrong, but that’s just my impression.
I know it was winter when you requested this (unless you live in the southern hemisphere?), but I’m writing it in summer, so oppressive heat, humidity, and intense downpours are what’s surrounding me right now. I guess whatever the weather’s like has a big effect on what I write, hahaha.
Also, sorry if there’s a lot of cafe scenarios. When I was in school, I spent a lot of time in the campus coffeehouse, and I’m going to be trained to be a barista starting next year, so it’s a pretty familiar atmosphere for me. If you ever want a specific date location for the scenario, just let me know, and I’ll write it. Actually, that’d probably make it a bit easier for me, hahaha. Since I’ve never actually been on dates. Maybe next time they should go to a water park or a zoo. Idk, it’s up to you guys, hahaha.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed your scenario! See you all next time!
