Not through exotic materials. Through a different way of thinking about how interiors are built, changed, and endure.
We call it the hidden carbon of interior change. And it is precisely why IQUBX has been shortlisted for the RAK Energy Innovation Competition 2026 (2nd SME Edition), organised by Ras Al Khaimah Municipality Department, in the Decarbonisation category.
This is a moment every founder quietly works toward: validation.
From applications across 25+ countries, only 9 companies were selected globally. Iqubx, a modular interior systems company from New Delhi, is one of them.
We have been walking this path for yearsโquietly, methodically, without waiting for a mandate. Guided by a conviction that the built environment deserved interior systems that were genuinely engineered, genuinely sustainable, and genuinely original.
That conviction was not always welcomed. There were years of polite indifference and skepticism. But a few people understood what we were building before the world had language for it. Their belief kept us building.
For us, sustainability was never a brochure word. It was a design methodology.
The architecture of the interior is often the most frequently disrupted part of a building. Every refurbishment cycleโdemolition, disposal, reconstructionโcreates carbon that green building ratings rarely account for. Our systems address this by design: highly customisable, modifiable, relocatable, and engineered for long-term performance.
Our lifecycle carbon simulation for a 50,000 sq ft Grade-A office over 10 years indicates that IQUBX modular systems may avoid up to 390.6 tCOโe, delivering a 45.8% reduction within assessed architectural systems, 14.5% reduction in total interior lifecycle carbon, and 16.8% reduction against the initial embodied carbon of the interior.
This is what Ennovation looks like in practice. Solutions that decarbonise because they are engineered toโand because they make commercial sense.
The final pitch is on June 24th before a distinguished jury including Director Generals of RAK government entities and CEOs of RAK Ceramics, RAK Ports, Al Hamra, RAKBANK, Marjan, and RAKTDA.
This shortlisting is not a prize. It is an invitationโto stand in a room where a vision carried for years is finally meeting the audience it deserves.
As PM Narendra Modi said in Nice, India is contributing solutions to the world, not consuming them. We have been trying to be part of that sentence for a long time.
Designed and Made in India. Designed and Made for the World.
