To Believe or Not Believe The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. Matthew 8:8 Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief. Matthew 13:58 As I read these 2 verses today I see one man who knew and believed in Christ our Lord and His power and authority; he knew the natural as well as the supernatural and in this he humbled himself in saying "I'm not worthy that You may come to my home" the word worthy in the Greek is hikano's which means sufficient enough. He basically said Jesus I am not sufficient enough that You may enter my home, what a beautiful picture of this centurion to know his position and yet humble himself before the Lord. "With humility comes honor. With honor comes access. With access comes authority." I read this in this devotionals, the truth is this is the way God works in our lives, when we humble ourselves before Him, He will work mighty works in us. But when there is pride, arrogance, and the hardening of the hearts there is no way that God can perform His purpose in your lives as we can see in the second verse, their unbelief didn't allow for Jesus to heal and deliver those in this place. We can see in the book of James 1:6-8 it says: But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. And as we continue to read the next two verses it states how the lowly which means humbled how God exalts them, while he who is rich God humbles. https://www.instagram.com/p/B1Ef8ecFcqP/?igshid=15ddjhmgizag5
