I scared my mom today when I told her I was going to be going to the hospital today. She started screaming and asking if I was okay until I explained I was just interning for a week or two.

Basically like, when you cook an egg, the proteins in the egg unfold and refold into weird shapes and stuff right? Taking up space and changing the structure of the egg. Well they learned how to refold the proteins into their original shapes! It’ll make treatments for a lot of diseases like cancer a lot cheaper because a lot of the medicines they use can now be fit into smaller and easier to obtain ‘host’ cells. =)

There’s a lot of other benefits but that’s one of them. Or the gist of it, really.
