I maintain that the best summation of my feminist beliefs are that men and women are not fundamentally different. There are a few quantifiable differences if you average out every woman and every man, but they are not qualitative. And most of them are socially constructed, and would be fixed if we started treating men and women the same. Neither is inherently smarter, neither is inherently kinder, neither is inherently more stoic or stronger or angrier or softer. It's spring now which means the kids in my city have started drawing hopscotches on the sidewalk and as a rule I do every hopscotch I see because 1. Use it or lose it (ability to scotch) and 2. If a child got down on the hardscrabble streets of Boston Massachusetts to draw a scotch the least I can do is use it, but in doing the hopscotches, I've learned that about 50% of them are the typical 8-10 step scotch and the other 50% are. Somewhat avant-garde. And of course I'm not vetting the entire scotch before I start it so sometimes it's like haha 8 steps woo! Childlike whimsy! And sometimes they're 20 steps or 30 or they've got a section with three squares instead of two where you have to do a little Charleston to step on all three, or, memorably, FORTY one foot squares. A full BLOCK of jumping on one foot but I'm no quitter so once I've started Jigsaw Junior's fuckin hopscotch gauntlet I'm there til the end just a daily pot smoker in her thirties jumping kasa-obake style through an affluent suburb while some little proto-kennedy watches from his bedroom window rubbing his sadistic little third grade hands together and cackling. It's amazing. I love spring.

learning Abt American black history should radicalize people because 80% of it is just "yeah these white people committed hate crimes and mostly got away with it while black families and communities were left in shambles and still haven't had reparations met decades later"

white Americans will teach fabricated black history but remove the other half of it because it quite literally makes them look evil with the amount of murder and displacement they have caused to black communities. they'll teach you a portion of MLK but not the BPP or Tulsa race massacre

it's very fucking important to learn about black American history in full detail because they are dead set on erasing and fabricating our trauma filled history. it is detrimental to civil rights as a whole.

One of my favorite activities is traumatizing crackers with lil snippets of what they’ve done to us. Some of my favorites include:

The “last” non-prison chattel slaves known to be released in the US were released in the 1960s. Like 5 years before the civil rights movement. My (Black, tbc) dad was born while other Black folks were still enslaved. I’m only 29.

Speaking of my dad, he was part of bussing and desegregation as a high schooler. Note again, I’m only 29.

There are still schools being desegregated as recently as the past decade. Not just redlining, etc. literal “we don’t let Black people in these parts” type segregated schools.

I’ve met multiple Black folks, including myself, who were functionally enslaved to a white at some point during their life. We weren’t legally their property via contract/deed but that didn’t stop her from hunting me down like a fucking dog across fields and through alleys while I tried to escape her with nothing but the clothes on my body.

At least 200 sundown towns are known to still exist in the US. For those who don’t know, cities where “the sun better not go down on you in (city)”. Because if you’re Black you won’t be seen again. Lotta Black folks outside cities know at least one family member or friend’s family member who got caught near one and disappeared.

MOVE Bombing in Philly, 65 predominantly Black homes destroyed to kill 13 Black separatists, half of them kids. In the past decade it was discovered two of the bodies weren’t returned to the families and ended test cadavers in multiple universities.
