Obikin Bridgerton AU (omegaverse version)
Note: It can work in a "galaxy-sci-fi" way or a "continent-historical" way. In both cases, every planet or region are part of an "Empire" ruled by Palpatine.
It was Anakin Skywalker's first season. At 23, the Crown Prince was called back to Coruscant by the Emperor himself; however, he had little hope of finding a decent match. After all, Anakin might have been the Heir to the Empire, but he was also a bastard, son of a maid, only legitimized by his father at age 9 because the Emperor found himself unable to have another child. And as if that wasn't enough hardship, Anakin presented as an Omega at 16.
Obi-Wan Kenobi, Duke of Mandalore, hadn't been seen in Coruscant for seven seasons. Not since his wife's passing. However, his son, Korkie, turned 18 and requested to attend. Obi-Wan couldn't deny him. He knew very much what it was like to be a young Alpha wishing to mingle and discover the World.

Both Anakin and Obi-Wan get a lot of attention from the ton. They are both admired and looked down upon.
They don't see each other before the first ball of the season. Obi-Wan spends most of his time avoiding widows and mothers alike, talking with his oldest friends, Duke Bail Organa and Lord Quinlan Vos, while keeping a watchful eye on his son. Anakin finds himself flooded with introductions and dance proposals, unable to even move from where he had been cornered at the beginning of the evening.
Finally, they both decide to flee and find solace in the gardens. Anakin is sitting by a fountain when they cross paths. Obi-Wan barely recognizes Anakin, and for a moment, he thinks Anakin might have forgotten him. But Anakin never did.
Anakin's mother never became Queen; she, however, married Lord Qui-Gon Jinn when Anakin was 10. Qui-Gon took it upon himself to make sure Anakin wouldn't drown in his new environment, teaching him to read, etiquette, and many other things, like dancing and fencing. Both skills Anakin practiced with Qui-Gon's first mentee, Obi-Wan Kenobi. They bickered a lot, but Anakin loved Obi-Wan. (Qui-Gon was killed a few years later, Obi-Wan always suspected Palpatine but couldn't prove it.)
And he still does all those years later.
They reconnect in the gardens, both careful and secretly a little in awe, until they have no choice but to part. People are coming their way, and it would be improper for an unmated omega to be found alone with an alpha.
Back in the ballroom, Quinlan and Bail pester Obi-Wan to know where he was while Lady Breha decides it is the right time to introduce Korkie to Anakin. Anakin visibly perks up upon hearing Korkie's full name. They talk a little, and Anakin seems visibly engaged for the first time that night, which gets people talking rather quickly. Obi-Wan's friends are quite amused by Anakin being seduced by the "Kenobi charm" as they call it, while Obi-Wan couldn't be more dissatisfied. He argues Korkie isn't built to marry into royalty. That his son deserves better than a life spent in a golden cage.
Eventually, Obi-Wan decides to intervene and joins them. He barely pays attention to Anakin, addressing his son and coercing him towards other family friends and their daughter. Anakin makes a comment about his attitude, and Obi-Wan chastises him, addressing him by his first name and shocking Korkie, who doesn't know they know each other. Anakin, however, is gleeful and merely answers by addressing Obi-Wan in the same way. It's slightly scandalous and of course, Anakin loves it. Obi-Wan is annoyed (and thrilled but that he can't even admit to himself), and leaves with Korkie to find his friends. Korkie has questions! He waits for the end of the event, when they are riding back to their house, to ask them. Obi-Wan stays very tight-lipped about his relationship with the Crown Prince.

Obi-Wan is already tired and can't wait for the season to be over. Anakin is thrilled. He never thought he would find a decent alpha, but Obi-Wan being there changes everything. He doesn't care for all the young lords who are being thrown at him. He wants the Duke of Mandalore, just as he is: older, widower, grumpy, sarcastic, charming, and, under everything else, kind. So Anakin will do anything to have him.
