In which Fury forces them to get some downtime and Clint insists they should spend it at Natasha’s cabin.
“I didn’t realize you were going for the medal round.”
“We’re still friends, right?” “Depends on how hard you hit me.”

Twins… They were having twins… Well that certainly hadn’t been planned…
Clint and Natasha were sat in a meeting with Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Phil Coulson and approximately twenty other Shield agents discussing various things Natasha wasn’t bothering to listen to. She was too focused on not throwing up…
The morning sickness was unbearable, and hadn’t settled for the day, like she’d hoped it might, in time for their weekly meeting. Natasha could feel Clint’s eyes on her, though she was careful to avoid looking over.
She was beginning concede defeat to lose her battle with nausea, when the mention of her name drew her attention back to the meeting…
‘…asha?’
“Hum..?” Natasha glanced to Clint who shook his head as Coulson summarised the past twenty minutes; “We need you to go to Sudan, Natasha. We have a mission for you”
“Oh… I c-” she faltered at the sudden return of overwhelming nausea
“She can’t…” Clint interrupted. “It’s out anniversary next week, we have plans…”
Fury sighed from beside Coulson while Maria was quick to move the meeting on. “Rogers can go in her place, and the next point to discuss is…”
Natasha shot her partner a thankful glance and went back to focusing on her breathing. She was more than uncomfortable; it was too warm, though she couldn’t remove her jacket. The lose fit covering the obvious tight fit of her shirt and pants… They wouldn’t be able to keep it hidden for much longer…
Her focus worked well enough, until one of the junior interns arrived with coffee for everyone. It was one of the biggest problems at home; the smell of coffee always made her sick, and Clint was barely human without it.
Without a word, Natasha slipped out of the room and made it to the bathroom before she was sick. Though all eyes went to Clint for him to explain his partners sudden absence. He decided to go with the truth… Mostly…
“She’s, er- not feeling too good… After all this time, my cooking still makes her ill…” he joked lightly, before getting up from his seat. “I’ll just go see if she’s okay…”
Clint left the room but heard the door swing open again behind him, turning, he saw Phil follow him out of the meeting.
“Barton? Your anniversary?..”
“Yes, Sir. We have plans; flights, hotel, restaurant. The whole thing”
“Your anniversary is in December, Barton…” Phil commented, and when the archer didn’t reply he spoke on; “Congratulations, and I hear ginger helps for morning sickness”
The agent smiled and left the stunned archer stood alone in the hall before he regained his composure and went to find Natasha… It seemed the years spent as their handler had served him well in reading the pair of agents, a skill which hadn’t been affected by certain recent events…
“I spoke like a child;
you destroyed me with a {smile}”

Chapter 10 of Great Inaudible Feelings by invisibledaemon (citizenscully)
He was really frustrated now, with her or with the world she wasn’t sure – probably both.
“I don’t care about my soulmark, I don’t care. I’ll have the fucking thing surgically removed. I just want you.”
His eyes were pleading, hands fisted at his side. He looked desperate to get closer to her but gave her space, for which she was grateful. She couldn’t say what she knew she had to say if he was in her space. It was difficult enough as it was. He was so tempting.
He was offering exactly what she had been afraid to admit to herself she wanted. But she couldn’t do that to him. Because yes, they would be happy for a while, for weeks or months if she was lucky. But eventually he would meet his soulmate. And whatever he’d feel for that person would have to be stronger than what he felt for her, even though her own feelings for him were so strong she felt as though she were choking on them. Then he’d either leave her for his soulmate or stay with her out of obligation and grow to resent her.
She could not live with either option.

Clint: So, the answer is: hell yeah I do.
Natasha: Whatever. I call Baymax.
Kate: And that velociraptor’s mine.
Clint: Aww, I hate you guys.
