belle-leclair:
âNo, not really⌠maybe one or two, but it doesnât happen often. I think most of them are scared rather than rude, you know. Itâs a big change and you have no idea what or who they really are.â As she knew it wasnât that hard to fake your own identity, since thet had happened before and probably would happen again too. It didnât matter how much security there was, it was too easily to slip by. âI didnât connect well with them, I guess. I was a woman with knowledge beyond my beauty, people didnât like that they thought it was abnormal and tried to shame me for it.â It didnât bother her much, women were mere props back in her time and she wouldnât have had much in common with anyone anyway. Her smile grew wider at Ireneâs fit and it dnât take long for her to fill in with her own, knowing this was something she could discuss for hours. âI take that as you have met a few men like it? Ouch. Hm, Iâm still living in that day dream a bit, I blame books for that they always have that nice fairy tale ending I love so much. I would do fine without it but I wouldnât decline it happening either. I can stay away from being a damsel though, bleh.â Belle wrinkled her nose a bit, feeling her shoulders drop. âThat part hasnât changed much. Something is always going to be weird or out of place and people are always quick to judge the things they donât understand. Thatâs all it is, people not understanding.â Her cheeks became somewhat hotter at Ireneâs hint, knowing who she was referring to. How foolish she had been. Though, she held up her hand in the air at Ireneâs sudden pity. âDonât worry, itâs all fine. I am happy about it but⌠we went into a fight and my temper took over, nothing too big. Heâs just being stupid, which isnât that uncommon if you ask me. We will sort it out Iâm sure.â That, or it was to end badly. What she wouldnât do for an update of some sort from him.
âI hadnât really thought of it that way. That gives you a bit of a thinker.â Irene pulled a hand through her hair, knowing that fear a bit. She had adjusted quite quickly, but mostly because she was already familiar with this era. If she had been from another time, like Belle, things probably ended up being twice as scary and mind blowing. At least she still had her home town, even if that was about it. âFeels like their system is a bit flawed, shouldnât they be working on that?â She nodded casually, feeling a sting in her chest from hearing Belleâs story. She had seen her animated movie when younger, everyone in France knew Beauty and the Beast, no escape from it, but Irene could never picture growing up without friends. âWhat a good thing you came here then, itâs like a second try in life and you do fit in just perfectly. Today itâs all about women taking a stand for what they believe in, I like it.â Oh if she had, she had even been dating one once during her teenage years before realising women were a much nicer company. âItâs hard to avoid them. Itâs all fine having a day dream, it gets us through those long hours of the day, Iâm sure you will have no problems finding one sooner or later too. But no, donât play a damsel thank you -- unless Iâm the one saving you from danger.â Irene put on her full focus once Belle started to discuss Oliver, seeing a tint of both shame and sorrow in her face. She tried her best to play it off in a neautral way, but Irene just knew better. âPeople are never fine, I have come to learn that part. Maybe I can help? I sound like a broken record but I really do care about you and I want you to be happy. Can you at least tell me what he did?â
