Hello!! I'm new to your page because well I haven't really talked or researched enough stuff about starship iris but I love the show very much!!
And I've been meaning to ask a question that I feel like some of the fans have also been wondering about, and it's about Park and Tripathi's newfound relationship? It just seemed so sudden and unfitting.
IM SO SORRY TOO!! Because I don't mean to sound disrespectful or rude, but I guess because it just, doesn't really make sense for those two to be together? I mean from the show they barely interacted with each other and not to mention seemed like they still had feelings for their own ex partners, it just didn't seem to click at all for me whatsoever. Like even after finishing the show I still do not understand their relationship, and how it became, and they don't even sound like they're dating more like euhhh, by force?
Anyway I do hope this question doesn't offend or mean anything rude to you in any way, it's just their relationship makes no sense when they've barely had any friendly or sweet interactions with each other🙏🏼 :)
hi there! glad you seem to have for the most part enjoyed the show!
your mileage may vary on this but i actually think they made a good team in the heist episode in season 2. i think they were having fun together.
i was in part trying to illustrate that there had been a time skip between season 2 and season 3, in which things happened that the audience doesn't get to see. i don't expect people to be as invested in park and sana as they might be about, say, violet and arkady. it's just how i saw things happening during the timeskip.
when i wrote the show, my intention was that sana has no feelings for her ex (do you mean ricky? she got him killed, on purpose) and she's still with campbell; they're canonically polyamorous. shelley is never canonically stated to be park's ex. also, again, it's been six months since season 2. they would've had time to work through things.
i understand that you aren't trying to be rude but respectfully: the way you phrased your question still feels to me, um, a bit rude! there's a big difference between "hey, how did you see this part of the story working?" and repeatedly (5 times?) telling me their relationship makes no sense. i don't expect people who listen to the show to love every single creative choice that i make, but i would, politely, ask that you treat me with the politeness you would show to a stranger. audio drama exists in kind of a weird space where you can have pretty immediate access to a lot of people who make shows, but not everyone is as tough as me and you could wind up really hurting someone's feelings! not telling you what to do, just something to think about.
hope that helps! thanks again for listening!
