Her feet swing to and fro over the branch of a tall tree, pale fingers lightly gripping the barked structure beneath her and a carefree hum sounded from pressed lips as wind blew through her hair. She raises a hand to tuck a brunette lock behind her ear and opens her previously closed eyes, maple colored hues taking in their surroundings. It's gotten darker, she realizes and understands that she must have been up here several hours, despite how slow time had appeared to move around her. Knowing better than to be out during dark when the Cavelli make their evening rounds Farein pushes herself from her branch, feet landing quietly on the leaf adorned ground of the forest around her. There's a silence that takes hold of the wildlife immediately, the nocturnal creatures too smart to make a peep and the ceasing of Farein's humming allowing the diurnal to finally make preparations to begin their slumber. Resisting the urge to sigh if only to have a sound of some form accompany her, she slips off into the underbrush of the woods, patiently detaching the thorns of close by bushes as they latch onto the fabric of her attire. It takes no more than ten minutes and she's arriving at the base of the large mountains where her designated home resides. She's about to climb when she hears a whisper in the wind that rushes at her face and she knows she's not alone. The Spirits are warning her again, and as usual, she listens. The girl turns in time to lock eyes with a woman older than herself, dressed in garments unfamiliar with a look in her eyes that suggests she is lost, and the first words out of Farein's mouth are,
"You're pretty." She realizes this isn't a proper greeting, but has no inclination to take them back, instead offering a slightly confused smile. This woman wasn't from Averis, nor from Magnus by the looks of her clothing and while strangers were rarely any trouble or danger, Farein couldn't help but wonder where this one came from. "And not from around here, are you?" A simple question, requesting nothing more than a simple 'yes' or 'no' as a response. She tilts her head to one side, brown hair falling over her shoulder and she taps a finger to her chin in thought. The purple haired female before her certainly was beautiful, she thinks, but she could feel any uneasiness that has the hair on the back of her neck standing up. There isn't a reason for it, and there are no more voices whispering to her and she's left with the only information being that which is given to her directly. The girl is tempted to add on some form of apology 'pardon, if i'm wrong' or something along those lines, but she doesn't. She doesn't have to; the question isn't rude and if it was, somehow, she was sure she could smooth things over without too much of an issue. Instead, she rocks forward on the balls of her feet and then back onto her heels, repeating the motion several times as she claps her hands behind her back. She hasn't introduced herself, and is mentally hitting herself for that. One of the first things she did, and she's forgotten so easily.
"I'm Farein, by the way." She states, "Sorry for not mentioning that before; You startled me a bit. I wasn't expecting anyone so close to the mountains." Or out at night, but she isn't adding that part, not yet anyway. If the woman truly was lost as Farein suspected, suddenly forcing information or terms onto her that she did not know could be overwhelming or annoying, neither of which were her intentions. She debates holding out a gloved hand, but thinks better of it, not knowing if that was customary where the female was from and instead giving a little nod, refraining from opening her mouth again. She's been doing all the talking, she just now notices, and politely waits for the newcomer to speak before she starts to talk the woman's ear off and ends up with a punch to the jaw. Farein wasn't positive that violence would be the end result, but something told her that the stranger wouldn't react positively to anything she deemed a large annoyance, and thus kept her mouth shut tight until words sounded from someone else's mouth.
