not only is it insulting to many ex-colony countries around the world  that lots of british people are calling this “independence day”

but this year, 2016, was ireland’s 100 year anniversary celebration of the 1916 easter rising, which was a rebellion against british rule in which the ireland was proclaimed a republic and is the most pivitol event in irish history.

idk, i’m just a bit sour about this, especially as northern ireland voted to stay and will have to leave as part of the united kingdom , so  this island becomes once again more divided, this time along EU lines. which is quite scary

‘(Seamus’) owner Mark Atkinson says the horse’s Irish roots clearly shone through when he was paired with Dubliner Turner…

“We noticed that Seamus would prick up his ears and twitch them backwards and forwards whenever he heard Aidan talking,” said Mr Atkinson. “He seemed to love his Irish accent. We used to tease Aidan about that, saying that they both speak the same language.” [x]
