i think these two have a tragic connection that no one really paid much attention to. if i recall correctly skids is referred to as swerve’s closest friend in mtmte at least once but we never really see them interact outside of a few times in early mtmte and then we see skids meet getaway again and then nautica and the rest of his little friend group and swerve just ends up fading into the background, even into the backgrounds of his own friends. (then there is the whole swearth thing, talking out of my ass here since i’ve forgotten a lot of it already but i don’t recall their relationship strengthening at all after that point) reminds me a lot of myself honestly. not really being forgotten but being pushed gently aside in favor for other people then there is skids himself who i struggle like hell to figure out at all. his motivations aside from figuring out what he forgot and actual personality are really unclear to me. it’s probably why i don’t like or care for him that much. but i’m trying to. i think he could be interesting if i cared about him. if he was covered more in mtmte as well. anyway yeah i am projecting hard on these 2 right now cuz of a friendship that recently ended and truthfully i hadn’t gone into this drawing thinking about it but by the end while i was finishing up i began ruminating a bit (a lot) and realized our relationship was not so dissimilar to canon skids & swerve. ( i also do ship them romantically but i think this drawing can be seen both ways )
