when i can find the energy to do so, i will likely be making a new blog for jess. i’ve been contemplating it for a while now, it’s just a matter of me being lazy af. nevertheless, i probably won’t transfer any asks over to the new blog just for the sake of my sanity. and most threads will end up being dropped. however, if there’s a thread you’d like to continue at all, please feel free to let me know.

Cassandra had been considering her for quite some time. A face like THAT was hard to miss and she wanted to be quick about LAYING HER CLAIM before one of her sisters did. But she would NEVER SAY SUCH THINGS. Couldn’t let Jessica get too full of herself. She had bothered to learn her name, another thing she WOULD NOT LET HER KNOW. Until she earned it, she would be addressed by WHAT SHE WAS. A plaything. Something existing solely for Cassandra’s entertainment. “ Well, don’t let it go TO YOUR HEAD. I’m simply in need of a handmaid. Do you think you can handle that ??? ”

THE FIRST QUESTION THAT SPRUNG to mind was why. surely there were other maids far more capable than her. PUNCTUAL. RELIABLE. which she was―to an extent. at least when she didn’t find herself getting LOST in the many halls throughout the massive castle. brow ARCHED, hands idly grasping at the sleeves of her shirt. jessica wasn’t sure she wanted cassandra’s attention or the RESPONSIBILITY of being her handmaid, she knew all too well of what would happen were she to disappoint in one way or another. ❛ i can handle it, miss cassandra. thank you for the privilege. ❜

Cassandra SMILED SMUGLY, nodding once to herself in satisfaction. She so did like obedient, pretty things. “ Good. ” She turned sharply on her heel and GLIDED FORWARD with a grace so fluid it seemed doubtful her heels were even touching the floor. Being made COMPLETELY of flying beings would give that illusion. “ You should consider yourself lucky. I don’t often allow THE HELP in my presence. ”

LUCKY WASN’T A WORD SHE’D use to describe this whole situation. the castle was but a gilded CAGE & being surrounded by four deadly yet equally TERRIFYING women wasn’t ideal. alas, these were the cards she was dealt. all she could do is PLAY her part & obey. & obey she did, TRAILING just behind the unsettling woman. ❛ i’m honored you considered me, miss cassandra. ❜ it wasn’t an entire LIE, there were other members of the staff that had been here longer than she had. & yet, that made her all the more FEARFUL of running the risk of getting on cassandra’s bad side.

She wanted entertainment and she was HELL BENT on getting it. “ Drop your other assignments. You’re only responsibility today is to wait on me. ” Mother probably WOULDN’T AGREE, but she was much too occupied today so Cassandra KNEW she could away with it.

MUSCLES STIFFENED AT THE VOICE that broke the silence. where did cassandra even come from? no matter. jessica sure as hell wasn’t going to PROTEST or question the mistress’ daughter. they were all intimidating in their own RESPECTIVE ways, & the blonde valued her life FAR too much to even contemplate stepping out of line, though she knew well enough by now that she was TRAPPED here. ❛ yes, miss cassandra. ❜
