cecy; twenty-nine, gmt+1. kind of an rph, kind of useless. love, this spring i smelt roses in the air. it has just been a year, so the less than pleasant memories were bound to return but the usual shudders did not. nor did the discomfort. i did not shut down. i see now that there is only so much past trauma can do, now that i’m healing. one day i hope to hold a rose bouquet and sniff the blooms daintily without those memories returning either. with you, i’ll be nostalgic in sweet rose-scented serenity. one day, i’ll overwrite what roses were programmed to mean to me.
