I'm not sure who to ask, but I've seen you have “no krp” on ur packs, so I am hope you can help. I know idol-based rp spaces maybe started the weird/ick/problematic energy(?), but what about people who only use k.fcs outside of idol settings? how can you tell the difference between someone choosing Korean (or exclusively ea/sea) fcs because they fit the character, vs someone fetishizing them? if anyone has a post, resource, or advice on this, i'd really appreciate it. thank you for any help!.!!

I've been reading and I'll just give an exemple that maybe could fit this idea of "AU with no normal ethnicities". In Genshin Impact we have places based on real places, for exemple Liyue is based of off chinese culture, Sumeru is based of off japan (if im not mistaken), but there is no chinese or japanese, there is Liyueans and Sumerians.

Is not so rare that fictional places dont follow our real world history and create a whole original idea of ethnicities. As you said yourself... GOT do that, LOTR i think do that too, winx i think have a whole lot of different ethnicities because they are aliens from different planets besides earth, and so on. I personally dont think is weird to create a world with other kinds of world building and cultures that dont follow our RL ones. But I can't say for sure cause I am not the one who asked, only they could confirm what they meant.

yes, you're right—liyue is based off of china, and inazuma is based off japan, hence why the names of the places are..... chinese and japanese. and why the characters names are.... chinese and japanese. nobody is against worldbuilding, but this is a poor example to give as a place "without ethnicity" when it's still respecting (as much as gi can really do...) the cultures it's taking from.

there's a lot of what about isms happening that's kind of bothersome. i'm not policing what anyone does, but if you have to run through these justifications and provide examples of books and shows written by white people, then that kinda speaks for itself

I think what anon was trying to say is regarding world where our ethnicities dont exist as they are. Like, a universe where there is no asia as a continent or the black culture as we know it. So there is no "asian" or "korean", maybe they have diffent and fictional names to represent places but they dont have that said place.

But thats just a possibility.

i get if it was a got/asiof/fantasy rp but they just said supernatural. it would be kind of bizarre to play supernatural muses in a world without ethnicities, especially considering most species are based off of existing cultural folklore.
