Let me get this straight.
“What the heck is that supposed to mean, not a part of the cartel…he’s working for Alessandro is he not?” Huffing lightly, Ingrid pushes her hair out of her face and bites down on her lower lip, giving Isaac a nervous glance. She looks back at her daughter for a long moment before closing the door and turning to face him. “Maybe you can’t but I can try.” Ingrid mumbles, pouting a bit when Isaac places his hands on her arms. “If it’s not easy for you either why are you letting it happen?” Opening her mouth to protest against his words, she promptly shuts it again, narrowing her eyes. Sadly…he was right. Leo’s mother was murdered, and god knows what that might have done to him growing up. Ingrid and Isaac were both very honest and caring about their son and daughter, though sometimes it hurt her to be. She sighs lightly, stepping closer to her husband and resting her head on his shoulder. “Why can’t he just talk to us? Or…I know know, why does he have to do this?”
“Yes, but we’re not like a cartel, you know that. It’s different for us, we’re family, it’s not all business” he replied with a sigh, running a hand through his hair. It was difficult for someone outside that world to see what set apart one killer from another, but Ingrid had known all along that this was his life “And that means every single man of the Amatores will have his back. Always”. He gave his wife a sympathetic look, because he could understand this wasn’t easy for her “Go ahead and try if you want, but he’s been set on doing this for years” he told her with a serious tone, so she wouldn’t get her hopes up on that matter, thinking that there was a big chance to convince Leonardo to do otherwise. “Because I was in his place when I was younger. I understand that need that is driving him to do this”. One of his hands moved up to her cheek, resting there as his thumb caressed her skin tenderly. “It’s us Altair boys, we have that in our blood” he said with a sad smile and a shrug. Death seemed to have a way to break them when they were younger and then they grew up to become bringers of death. “He’s doing this because I was his example, Ingrid. Now he’s following it” he said in a low tone, being realistic about this time around.
