On my travels through Greece I fell in love with an island there called Chania (Greek Islands). I spent the duration of one week in Chania and during that time I came across Antonis. - Elvis Di Fazio

Antonis, would you call yourself a natural body builder and what is the difference between “body building” and “Natural Bodybuilding”?
“Yes I am definitely a natural bodybuilder and I have been training since 2014. In my opinion natural bodybuilding and bodybuilding generally don't have a lot of differences because both need huge sacrifices and a great effort”
When was the last time you competed?
“I have competed only one time on October 15th of 2017 (I plan to do more shows)”
What was preparation before the competition like for you?
Preparation was quite hard because I was working also but I was very determined to succeed.
Would you say you're disciplined?
When I set a goal I am 110% disciplined and not only in bodybuilding, but generally in life.
What place did you come in the finals?
I got a second place in junior bodybuilding, and a 3rd place in bodybuilding category.
Winning is not everything when you have achieved your personal goals to be the best you can, but it's certainly a plus!
How did you get into bodybuilding / what or who inspired you?
I started training in a gym alone and slowly I started loving seeing difference in my body. I was really inspired by the old-school bodybuilders like Frank Zane.
Do you have any friends or family who also do bodybuilding?
My close friends and family aren't into bodybuilding but they stand alongside me and support me as they can.
Is it a popular sport in Greece?
In Greece it's not really popular and I think it is because people don't really know this sport and because it is a very demanding sport.
What do you like to do for fun apart from bodybuilding?
I really like listening to music and watching tv series, I also play a traditional cretan instrument.
Do you have a big family? Are you very close with your family?
I have a very big family and as everybody in Greece I am very close with them.
What was life like growing up on the islands of Greece?
I feel very blessed to live in Crete that it is (to me) the most beautiful place!
Is tradition a big part of your lifestyle, is it important to you?
Crete has an enormous tradition and I really like singing or dancing Cretan songs along with my friends!
Can you tell me a bit about your commitments with the army, when will you be going and for how long?
I am joining the army in 5 days and I will be there for 9 months away from my home.
How do you feel about that?
It is a little bit strange but I think it will be ok. The hard part will be the first month.
Would you be ready if you were asked to fight a war?
If war means protecting my family and honor my country... then yes.
Name the 5 most important things in your life?
Family-Friends-Gym-Home-My dog! :-P
What quality do you admire in a person the most?
Have you travelled abroad, if so where?
Yes I have travelled several times - I’ve been to Rome, Prague, Paris, Berlin, Budapest amongst other places.
Where do you see yourself ten years from now?
Married with two beautiful children, owning a gym and preparing for contest :-P
