âOkay but what does that mean? Weâre supposed to be skiing in Aspen for winter break, daddy and thatâs not exactly going to work if youâre not there. What? No, itâs like, not even that cold. Weâre not going to be stuck in Forks.â Although, given the fact that her car was totally iced over this morning, her dad might have more of a point than she was willing to admit. Jess let out a sigh, her cell phone pressed to her ear as she was met with arguments she couldnât contend with (yet and in her defense, he was a big time lawyer). âRight, yeah. Sure, Iâll see you then. Love you too.â Jess quickly pocketed her Blackberry, letting out the worldâs longest sigh before turning to the nearest bystander.
âNot to be dramatic but it is literally freezing today, right?â
arriving to school earlier than expected, bella had decided to wait in her truck to stay warm until the usual group of friends arrived. seeing jessica pull into the parking lot, bella gathered her stuff and hopped out of the car, walking over to where she had parked carefully as not to slip like she had that morning, twice. as she got closer, she could hear jessica on the phone somewhat arguing with whoever was on the other line. bella waited for the conversation to end, eyebrows raised with a small smile spread across her lips and she heard her friendâs question.Â
âiâm not the person to ask, as soon as i can see my breath in the air, iâm calling it the new ice age approaching.â
