“I’d be curious to know the percentages of people who watch the Super Bowl for the football and who just watch so they can see all the commercials and movie trailers.” Logan wasn’t a football fanatic, per se, but he did enjoy the occasional sporting event, so he was by far a mixture of both.

“I’ll be honest when I say I’m just a commercials and movie trailers girl. I couldn’t care less about the actual game. In fact most of the time I just eat my food during that part.” She admitted. The Super Bowl was a big event around the Alvarez household, she didn’t dare miss it— despite how much she actually disliked the sport. “What about you? Are you a fan of the game or more a commercials man?”

It had certainly been one hell of a morning for Sebastian. As could be expected, public transport had been horrific, and that resulted in him being almost twenty minutes late for appointment. Given that he’d never actually been to this hospital before, he was really hoping that Ida had somehow got the layout of the place pre-programmed into her brain as he tried to navigate his way to the right room. However, he had no such luck. He’d already be wandering for a good ten minutes, Ida being rather indecisive about where it was they needed to be. With a soft sigh, he instructed Ida to get the attention of one of the nurses, and offered them an apologetic smile when he heard them approaching, “So, I’ve got an apportionment that was supposed to be like ten minutes ago- any chance I’m even in the right department?” 

Issy’s morning had been relatively slow thankfully to the new admissions already being handled by the nightshift nurses before they got off. Issy had been doing charting when she heard a voice, she looked up to see a man standing in front of her. Smiling back at him when she heard his question. “I’m guessing no considering you’re very tall to be a twelve year old.” She told him jokingly. Clicking a few buttons on the computer, then she locked it before turning to give him her full attention. “What department are you and your friend looking for? I can help get you there or point you in the right direction?” She offered to him. “I’m Issy by the way.”

“Yeah no need to worry about any murdering or anything like that.” She assured her. “Oh right,” Bree gasped softly remembering the thing about the stalking when the other girl said it. “Do me a favor and tell me if you see a guy weird guy in a baseball cap anywhere.” She said, looking around the cafe for a second although it was just a joke.

“Good to know.” She laughed. “Yeah.” She pointed out with laugh, she lifted one finger up to prove her point more. “I promise I will. I’ll keep watch out for you.” Making an eyes motion before she scanned around the room to make sure that there wasn’t anyone creepy. “Got anything else for me to be on the look out for?” She asked. “I just want to make sure I have my eyes trained and ready for every creep.” She told her with a laugh.

Veronica threw on her jacket and grabbed her bag as she rushed out the door. She was running late yet again, but what else was new? She started walking down the street, unfortunately having to rely on her own two feet since her car was in the shop. As she walked by at a brisk pace, she was unable to stop in her tracks and the momentum carried her into another person. Veronica reached out to steady them and then noticed they dropped something on the ground as they collided. “Oh my God, I’m so sorry. Here. Let me get that,” she said, leaning down to pick up the item. She glanced at it to make sure it wasn’t broken and then handed it back to them. “Are you okay?” 

Issy had just finished her latest practice and was trying to enjoy what was left of her day off. Unfortunately though as she was on her way home, she collided with another person, she dropped her skates out of her bag. “It’s fine.” Trying to brush it off quickly, she went to grab the skates, but Veronica had already picked them up. Feeling slightly uncomfortable as someone else touched her skates— they were her prized possessions, nobody else had been allowed to touch them for the last ten years. Taking the skates back from her carefully, she repositioned them back in her bag so they wouldn’t fall out again. “Yeah, I’m fine. I’m more concerned with my skates.” She told her honestly. “Are you okay?”

Olivia nodded, agreeing. “Yeah I mean clearly it’s basically a life for a life considering most people usually get caught and spent their life locked up and living with it all for their lives. Plus the planning alone would be kind of exhausting all on it’s own ” she shrugged. “Wow ice skating, that’s exciting. Umm I’m a real estate agent and now that the holiday rush is over with, people are ready for changes.”

“True, but some don’t. I mean there’s over thirty active serial killers in the United States alone. They can’t capture them all at once now can they?” She pointed out. “Plus any person who kills over three people is a serial killer.” She added on. “Yes, the planning would be exhausting. Most serial killers thrive off of it though, but that’s what makes them serial killers.” Realizing that she was still rambling on about serial killers, her knowledge of them was showing. It was mostly due to the fact that she’d watched tons of documentaries when bored and in rehab. She’d spent way too much time watching TV in general, now she’d became a TV junky who binged show after show. “Yes, ice skating.” She answered proudly. “That’s awesome. I bet your super busy, especially since it’s a buyers market. Do you have any appointments today?”

Check ups for Frankie had initially been one of the most daunting aspects of fatherhood that he’d had to face. That constant panic over whether he’d missed some subtle symptom and his son had fallen sick just like his mother had. However, each time the little boy had been given a clean bill of health and today had been no exception. With his son scooped up in his arms, promising him ice cream later, he was barely looking where he was going into a voice spoke up. One he recognised. Fuck. If he hadn’t been in the role of dad and instead able to play the role of ex to his full capabilities perhaps he’d have sworn too but instead tense, sharp words leave his lips when he’d been trying so hard to keep the air clear in more ways than one around Frankie. “Can you watch your language in front of my son.”

The pair them had always been heated and he knew that if he hadn’t had his son in his arm, he’d have wasted no time in adjusting his tone to be every bit as scathing as hers. Instead he found himself fighting to keep his expression neutral, tone full of forced cheer as he muttered through gritted teeth that he tried to craft into a smile. “Yeah, anywhere but here.” A few years ago he’d have bitten without question at her quip, knowing full well their families still spoke. Instead he spotted the uniform, and put two and two together about what she’d been doing with her life since he left. “You finally moved on from the rink then. Shame you’re still as icy as it.”

Issy felt her blood run cold when he said the word son, she blinked for a long moment to make sure she hadn’t misheard him, but there he was. Holding onto his son tightly— his son that was without her. She knew the day would eventually come, but she hadn’t expected it so soon. They’d joked about kids when together, but now here was with one— she didn’t know how to feel. “Son.” She finally repeated with a shakey voice. “Sorry— I’ll watch my language.” Feeling frazzled about his son still and she put two fingers to her temple to try and relieve the stress headache she felt coming on. 

“Is he yours or is he adopted?” Finally getting up enough nerve to ask. Putting a hand to her hip, she rolled her eyes at his words. “You’re the one that’s here. I’ve been here for a long time Gabriel.” She said using his full name just to annoy him. Crossing her arm over her chest, she gave a tight smile. “You’d know that if you stuck around, but you bailed out the second you could.” She knew it was a cheap shot, but something inside of her was aching at seeing him and his child. “It’s part of why I love the rink so much— it’s as icy as I’ve always been.” It was true, she felt one with the ice, she always had. “So what’s his name?” Letting the bitchiness drop for a moment, she looked over towards the baby. “Please tell me you didn’t name him Gabriel Jr. I’ll actually fight you if you did.” Finding the whole junior thing ridiculous when it came to names, especially when they ended up just going by Junior anyways.

Elijah wasn’t big on singing in public. It wasn’t like he had stage fright, he just hated singing in public and had bad experience with it back in college. Part of him wanted to bolt, but the other part of him knew that he needed to meet new people and expand his horizons. He ordered himself a drink, prayed for liquid luck and glanced around the place. It wasn’t all that bad, actually.  It wasn’t like he was trying out for American Idol and Simon Cowell was in the audience, judging him.  Once he got his drink, he sat down at an empty table and watched as people sang. Then he saw someone in the corner of his eye and took a sip of his drink. “You can sit with me, I don’t bite.” He replied as he looked at the person then back at the stage. 

Isabelle took the offer from the man when he gave it, especially since the bar was so packed. “Thank you.” Sitting down next to him and her eyes went directly towards the stage where there was a current performer screeching Beyonce. “Have you been here that long?” Looking over towards him with wide eyes. “Please tell me that they haven’t all been this bad.... this is so bad.”

Olivia thanked the other women as she set her stuff down on the table. She chuckled at her statement while pulling out her tablet and some work papers. “Well luckily I don’t have the time to be a serial killer nor would I want to be.” she chuckled. “Thanks again for the spot. I promise not to bother you at all as it seems like your fairly busy yourself.” 

Moving her things closer to her so she allowed Olivia to have more room. Glancing closely at the tablet and work papers, she couldn’t help but feel nosey as she tried to see what was going on. “It really does seem like a lot more work than it’s worth.” She admitted with a shrug. “You’re welcome.” Smiling from ear to ear. “Oh you’re fine I was just doing notes for one of my skating lessons. What are you working on?”

Sophie nodded when asked if she needed a seat, she had been considering heading out instead but the girl was being kind, and she was very easy on the eyes. She grinned as the chair was pushed towards her and laughed at the comment about the TV show. “The problem with Joe Goldbergs is that you can’t tell that they are Joe Goldbergs until it is far too late.” She sat herself down, “I’m Sophie and I haven’t murdered anyone,” she said, extending her hand.

Issy shifted forward in her seat, she leaned her elbows on the table with a laugh. “You’re not wrong. Although I have a way of not trusting men since that show came out. Especially the ones who are too good to be true.” She certainly had became a lot less trusting of men since the show had came out. It had a way of opening her eyes like it never had before. “Nice to meet you, Sophie. I’m Issy.” Taking the woman’s hand, she gave it a quick shake. “So what brings you in here today, Sophie?”

Bree had taken a break from work at the office to go grab lunch. A small headache due to her hunger was attempting to form into a bigger one because she’d skipped breakfast that morning. Of course the place was packed but a kind person offered her a seat. “Thanks,” She said, sitting down as she laughed at the girls next words. “Swear I’m not a Joe Goldberg. I met this guy once and looking back at it I think he might’ve been one. Truly dodged a bullet there.” Bree told the girl in her typical slightly over sharing nature.

“You’re welcome.” Issy smiled over at the woman. Moving her food towards her and she picked at it aimlessly. “Well glad to hear that you’re not Joe. It certainly makes my life a little bit easier.” She told her with a laugh. “Really? You sure he’s not still stalking you? I mean Joe did stalk Beck and Love for a while.” She pointed out.

Her words definitely confused him, mostly because he had absolutely no idea who Joe Goldberg was —- but then, Marco needed a seat, so did he really care in that particular moment? “I do need a seat…” he responded, lowering himself into the chair opposite her and placing down his coffee. “Definitely not a serial killer. Although I doubt a serial killer would actually admit it on the spot.”

Issy looked up at the man while she waited patiently for Marco. “Well it’s open.” Gesturing for him to take the seat once more, she took a long sip of her coffee. “That’s goos to know at least.” At his words she nodded slightly. “I mean you’re not exactly wrong, but hey. Let’s hope that you’re not some secret serial killer.” Crossing one leg over another, she tucked her hair behind her ear. “So I’m Issy. You are?”

Issy’s words resonated with Jack. They were all doing a lot better now that the holidays had passed, although, the season in general wasn’t ever good for them —- him especially. In ways, the kids always did better, being so young when it happened, not really understanding. “Nothing out of the ordinary,” he commented, shaking his head. “To be honest, I think she gets distracted over the holidays. Too much going on, you know?” It was the only explanation he could think of for Lucy’s sudden enthusiasm again.

Issy leaned against the wall between her and Jack for support, she dug her toe pick into the ice. “That’s good at least.” She was thankful to hear that there hadn’t been anything out of the normal to cause the distraction she noticed in Lucy. “Probably? I know sometimes it’s hard for me to think around that time of year.” She’d took a fall or too over being distracted with the holiday season and the stress that came along with it. “I’m just glad that she’s back on track and making progress again.” She’d seen so many skaters never recover for one reason or another. “You know one of these days Jack you’re going to have to let me get your youngest out on the ice.” She teased with a smile. “If she’s anything like her big sister she’ll pick it up in no time.”

After the class finished up Issy stayed behind to talk to the familiar brunette that she’d got to know over the past few weeks. “Class was really great today.” Issy complimented, she adjusted the bag on her shoulder. “You’re teaching a dance class too right?” Questioning with a friendly smile on her face. “I had to miss your last one but I’ll be there on the Friday class as long as there’s still openings. You’re actually getting quite popular around here.”

“I know the point of this is to relax, but honestly I think it’s stressing me out more.” She admitted, she pulled her foot up behind her. “How you do this so perfectly I will never know.” She told him with a shake of her head. While Issy was flexible, it was her need for perfection and to be the best at everything that tripped her up. “Can we stop with this move and try something else?”
