Summer Days 🎀🍦

I am looking forward to the days of slow summer idyllic. Finally on a mini break from grad school. I can turn my focus towards being present and taking each day slowly. I am looking forward to tackling my endless TBR of books, frequenting the library, writing to my pen pal, putting together cute pastel outfits, indulging in all my favorite glittery makeup, and really channeling a soft princessy summer! 🍦

Library & Book Club Day 📚

I went to the library yesterday and had book club there as well. We recently finished Katabasis by RF Kuang and I have so many thoughts regarding that book. It was an enjoyable read but does not touch the the standard she had set with Babel. The research about iterations of hell in different cultures, the world building, and the commentary on women in academia, were all the wonderful bits. But the book could have benefited from better plot pacing and deeper emotional involvement and relationship building with the characters. Other than that, it is still a solid read!
