Easy like Sunday Musings...

¤ Today is our 23rd wedding anniversary…we have been planning a renewal of our wedding at the beach at Mandalay Bay for our silver anniversary for many years and now it is just 2 years away.

¤ There will be a concert at the park next door tonight, one of the first for the year, Paul Simon, I am outside listening to the rain and the warmups with a Guinness…hello summer!

¤ Soon it will be time for our vacation cruise that we planned in October…what took you so long?

¤ The entire family (all 5 of us) will be going to partake in our favorite Mexican restaurant for our anniversary…then we will watch our VHS video most likely (the BETA version was not available) and laugh at how different everyone is and cry at the many missing souls.

¤ My new favorite hobbies are to relax and gardening…I seem to excel at both!

June 1st...

Today is our "dating" anniversary so we had dinner at Long John Silver's just like we did every month when we first started dating. This was a great way to celebrate our anniversary of our 31st year together! And to remind me why I can't eat like a teenager anymore. The 2nd leg of our anniversary date included something we weren't "supposed to do" 31-years ago... The door is wide open on this statement, but I'm talking about drinks at a bar.

All is Fair...

Now that May has arrived, I'm reminded of 9-years ago when we came from Florida for a house-hunting trip. Many things were memorable, from pre-South Carolina activities to the friend we made once we arrived, but finding our future and current home is the point of this post. We looked at about 8,698 homes in a 3-day time span, but when we saw this home, it was almost love at first sight. Other than the instant feel of home, we were drawn to the neighborhood and the park adjacent to the subdivision. It is home to 4 baseball diamonds, a huge play area, many shelters with cookout grills, and even a train. The main attraction is the outdoor Ampitheater. It is a beautiful thing to walk to shows, but even the ones we don't visit in person are within ear-shot to enjoy from the comfort of our home....sometimes on the front porch or at our new hillside fire pit. The park also housed many an event such as the Aloft hot air balloon festival and most recently the Fair, both of which have taken place in May...the reason of this timely post. This month brings our temporary neighbors, the "Carnies". It also attracts the smell of fried treats, the sound of mechanical thrill rides, and the vision of electronic arts as these senses fill the air. Soon enough May will carry the excitement of all these things, but the excitement right now is the anticipation of warm weather and fun to come...
