Check out MobSTIR Johanna clean up the community poster! We love this!
For my MobSTIR Spring Clean Up, I chose to clean the area in front of my house. There is a gutter that leads to the lake by my house so I decided to clean the trash up from around there. At first, I thought that it would be easy to pick up a few pieces of trash because it didn't look that dirty. But when I began to really look, there was garbage everywhere! So I began to pick up all of the trash I saw and the end result was ridiculous! I found: 7-8 whole aluminum cans, with a few that were in pieces, I also found multiple class bottles, a newspaper, a soda can box, also tin foil and some take-out food trash. After seeing the amount of trash that could have gone in to a lake, I was determined to go out by that gutter more often to pick up! In conclusion, I am so happy that I did the MobSTIR Spring Clean Up because I was able to pick up so much trash that otherwise would have gone in to the lake by my house. I encourage any and everyone to participate and pick up trash when they see it! Written by: MobSTIR Rylyn

Introducing our amazing 2016 MobSTIRS! Meet Aiden! Hello, my name is Aidan. I am 12 years old and I've lived in Scotland for 3 years and was born in England. I am a boy that really likes birds especially birds of prey and near where I live is the Scottish National Deer Centre which also has a bird of prey sanctuary. On my twelfth birthday my parents bought me a tour and I learned more about them and even got to hold some of them and I am hoping to volunteer there soon. I care a lot about the environment and think that we all need to take care of our planet. I am in the first year of high school. My favourite subject is Science. I play video games and I watch videos on YouTube. My favourite animals are Birds, Tigers, Leopards, Elephants, Rhinos and Dogs. I do watch rugby and the team I support is Leeds Rhinos. I heard about ISF from my Mum and signed up to be a GenISF crew as I wanted to help then when I heard about MobSTIRS I really wanted to be one so I could be even more involved. - See more at: http://www.isfoundation.com/news/mobstirs-2016#.dpuf #ISFYouth #MobSTIRS

I am lucky. I will admit. I have been raised up being given all privileges starting from conventional education to going to an English medium school. Well, now you could be wondering. Why is she calling herself lucky when everyone is taken to a school? The answer to your question, and many others, is simple yet, complicated. There are hundreds and hundreds of poverty-stricken people all around the world who neither are educated themselves nor their children have been given that opportunity. It is not a choice they have made for themselves but, a choice that has been bestowed to them as something that has been predetermined. Nonetheless, there are some parents who unnecessarily send their children to work to only earn extra money under unfavourable conditions but, that is not the exact topic to talk about today. The children and teenagers who should be playing and going to school, are working under the sun to help their family survive. I have seen many myself. Sometimes, it is one of the most depressing scenes anyone could possibly witness. You must now be thinking why does it exist and what can be done for them? Amazingly, our world has a top-notch balancing system. For the Sun. we have the Moon. For the sky, we have the soil. For life, we have death. For the rich, we have the poor. You and I cannot complain about what nature had decided. Yet, nature never bound us to stop us from making a change. That's where the two most beautiful balances come in. For despair, we have hope. For problems, we have solutions. One of my best friends has been teaching poor kids at her home on a weekly basis and I am absolutely inspired by her now. You can do the same. Teach. Spread awareness about education's importance. You are never too young or too old or less knowledgeable !! Anyone can be a teacher! If education doesn't flourish, our countries, our world, our civilization will never truly move forward. Education is logically the key to most issues today. Be it climate change, deforestation , poaching, diseases, natural disasters or even, human trafficking; getting educated is the first real step to knowing these and consequently, finding methods to fix them. So start as soon as possible. Find someone who needs your assistance in starting studies or anything around that. Teach+Know+Spread+Encourage+Help = Education for a brighter tomorrow. Because today's children are tomorrow's stars. Together we will make them able to shine independently.

The Importance of Water in Our Lives When we talk about water, we talk about life. Our body is comprised of approximately 70% water, with some variation according to age. Therefore, we need water for everything, principally to survive. Every day of our lives, we use water for a lot of things such as bathing, drinking, washing clothes, dishes, etc1 That water is a super important thing in our lives, we all know, but few people use water correctly. Scientific research says that one day the water of our planet will come to end. This is certainly very worrying and we are all guilty for wasting water on trivial things. But we can do things so that this will not happen, to preserve water for future generations. UN surveys in 2015 found that 10% of the world's population does not consume clean water2. This is very sad, because we all have the same rights, but we can help to make a change. We can mobilize to campaign and create projects to raise money. We can donate to foundations that aim to send clean water to the entire planet. It’s a small act, but if each one of us does a small part, we can achieve something big. Worrying about the scarcity of water on a planet that has 75% of its surface covered by water seems absurd. However, most of that volume is in the seas and oceans - salt water, unfit for human consumption and food production. Although 75% of the surface is covered with liquid masses, fresh water is not more than 3% of that total. Only a third of the fresh water - present in rivers, lakes, shallow groundwater and atmosphere - is available. The rest is concentrated in glaciers, ice caps and deep groundwater3. Water is our life. Without water there is no life, there is no planet. Water is a precious commodity that is priceless and should be preserved for all, in the four corners of the world. Here are some ways to preserve water: 1: Brush your teeth with the tap off. 2: Reuse washing machine water to wash the car. 3: Turn the shower off while lathering up 4: Choose to clean the driveway or yard with brooms and cloths. 5: Accumulate dirty clothes and use the maximum capacity of the washing machine.
