Varian inched forward into what he thought was an abandoned house, at least, that is what it had looked like from the outside. The inside was a different story with a dirty plate sitting on a tv tray next to a recliner and a radio playing low as if someone had just been in the room. Varian took a step inside, hoping he could convince whoever was living in this falling apart shack would give him a place to stay for the night. His recent change left him towering at a good six foot four and decently muscled from head to toe yet he had an ability to bat his eyes just right to make people more comfortable interacting with him. As Varian scanned the room he heard footsteps and was greeted with someone entering from the other side of the living area. 

“Oh uh, sorry for just walking in. The door was open and I thought this house was abandoned.”

Blaine shook his head. The headache that slowly built over the last few hours was pounding in his skull. He could’ve swore that he heard the floorboards scream under an intruding weight, but he wasn’t sure with the faint sound of Porgy & Bess playing from the radio. Blaine sighed, this abandoned house was so old, it could’ve been anything. He didn’t scorn it though, as it gave much needed relief from his work. He could relax here away from his employees, who unfortunately made his heart race every time they were near. If only Liv gave him a handbook to the zombie cure so he would be prepared for the multitude of side effects. He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration. Another creak in the floorboards drew his eyes towards the doorway, and he was certain that someone was in the living room. Slowly standing, Blaine eased down the hall while he pulled out his blade. Stepping into the room, he was surprised to see a towering man in the doorway. He quickly hid the blade and smiled, trying to appear innocent until he found out what this man wanted.

“Abandoned? You should see it when the gardener’s done. You one of those extreme makeover guys?”

Varian shook his head with a small smile. "No, I've been traveling and just looking for a place to stay the night. I can pay you and I don't mind staying on the couch."

"Adena, I’m surprised you even knocked."

"Well if you’d prefer, I could turn into a horse and break through the door."

"...Is that my cereal? Are you telling me you stole my cereal then walked outside and knocked to come in again? What did you do, lock yourself out??"

"Adena, I’m surprised you even knocked."

Adena was in the middle of a snack. “Huh?”

"You would let your own best friend’s brother die in a fire." Alex tilted his head, the flames licking at his ankles as he spoke. "I wonder what Varian would say?"

"It’s a shame you won’t be around to find out now won’t it? I think this calls for some music." *Disco Inferno starts playing* "Appropriate don’t you think?" Adena gets up and starts dancing to prove her point.

Alex gritted his teeth, the fire beginning to burn his legs. "Fine, I'll go." He retreated to the door but not before returning the picture frame back to its level position. "But I'll be back."

Adena was in the middle of a snack. “Huh?”

"You’re just going to let the fire get me?" Alex set his jaw, finding the punishment a bit harsh for the crime.

"Pretty much yeah. I mean, the door is over there and the fire will go out as soon as you set foot out the door. That doesn’t take that much effort to do. Ya lazy bum."

"You would let your own best friend's brother die in a fire." Alex tilted his head, the flames licking at his ankles as he spoke. "I wonder what Varian would say?"

Adena was in the middle of a snack. “Huh?”

"Bees?" Alex relaxed and slumped down on a couch. "They aren’t too unmanageable." He kicked his feet onto a nearby coffee table. "That the best you’ve got?"

"Well aren’t you tenacious?" Adena was more than grumpy that he was not leaving. "This is why part two of the charm sets everything not protected by it on fire. Have fun hot stuff."

"You're just going to let the fire get me?" Alex set his jaw, finding the punishment a bit harsh for the crime.

"Why?" Alex raised a brow, unsure of if she was bluffing or serious. "Is it cursed?" He half mocked, a bit of concern still edging into his voice.

"Well birdbrain, you just activated a very old charm that I put on all of my things while I sleep, and I haven’t taken it off seeing as I was not expecting company today." Her smirk grew bigger. "The side effects aren’t too nasty unless you want to count a swarm of bees coming your way in, oh, I don’t know 30 seconds from now? There’s a lake outside. I’d go jump in it before they get here."

"Bees?" Alex relaxed and slumped down on a couch. "They aren't too unmanageable." He kicked his feet onto a nearby coffee table. "That the best you've got?"

"Uh-huh.." Alex ignored the threat and went about rearranging knickknacks on a nearby shelf. "Home remedies?" He questioned as he picked up an odd looking trinket and turned it in his hand before setting it back down to look over at Adena. "Sounds fun."

"If I were you, I wouldn’t have touched that." A small smirk began appearing on her face because of the trinket Alex just inadvertently activated.

"Well look what the cat dragged in. I’d say it’s nice of you to drop by, but I was enjoying my food."

"And don’t think I didn’t see what you did to the picture frames. Fix them, or I’ll fix you. And you can ask your brother about the effectiveness of my home remedies."
