Childish and curious, Isis can only be described as immature. She never had to take responsibility for her decisions in her life, always having her brother for support, so she grew up without a care in the world. She is very optimistic and bubbly, but that doesn’t mean she can’t be tough. She knows how to be happy but strict at the same time. With her power to turn into what ever she wants, she knows the power she wields and though she doesn’t use it often, she has the potential to be catastrophic. She is not easily angered but if she is, Isis is the type of person who can hold a grudge for a very long time.
Born into a impoverished family, Isis lost her parents when she was very young. She never knew how to cope with their loss, so she forced herself to forget them, and with that she forgot her pain. The only person she needed was her brother. He acted as both a mother and a father for her, and it was because of that, that she never experienced the loss of her parents. Learning everything she knew from her brother, she never really had a care in the world. She made her only other personal connection when they moved into the home of an old widow in Spain. There she spent her days with the old woman, listening to tales of her past and helping her out around her home. She grew extremely attached to the woman and truly loved her, because of which, the death of the woman was especially difficult for her. She was very reluctant to rent out their home to a stranger, and did not want someone else living with them.
When Naomi Flores arrived and moved into the room upstairs, Isis was very cold and distant. She was slow to open up, but over time, she warmed up her. As the days passed and they lived together for longer, she grew to really like the other resident, and Naomi became like a sister to her. She loved having someone else to spend time with, and became very close to Naomi. One day, she found her doing something bizarre and learned that it was in fact witch craft. When she confronted Naomi about it, she begged her to show her some magic. When Naomi agreed and suggested a spell that could turn humans into animals, Isis readily accepted. Using a drop of her blood, Naomi turned her into a wolf and then back into a human. Because the spell had been cast using her blood, Isis became enchanted, and gained the ability to turn into any animal at will. She did not know how to turn at will, and before she could ask Naomi how to control her new power or how to reverse the spell, her brother appeared as a wolf himself. Isis was shocked and Naomi explained that since the siblings shared blood, he must have been affected by the spell as well. But he didn’t have the ability to turn into any animal, rather only a wolf. Angry, her brother forced Naomi to leave, leaving Isis devastated at losing yet another person she cared about. The next day, the siblings moved from Spain, and never stayed in any place for too long. Due to their constant relocation, Isis never made any real connections with anyone, and even became scared to do so. She had plenty of flings and meaningless relationships, but she never opened up to anyone, scared of losing them the second she did.
She followed her brother to meet the vampires when she heard about the creation of Night World. She agreed to help maintain Night World, and then they left again. She never saw the vampire Aleksey again until her brother informed her they were going to America to help deal with a problem that had arisen in Night World. Isis used her ability to shift, and turned into a dragon when fighting. Using her own power, and drawing from the power of her dragon form, she helped put down the insurrection.
After the spell, Isis stayed back with her brother. She is determined to have fun in her time in the community and often goes out at night. But like always, she doesn’t want to form any real relationships and she doesn’t want anyone to know who she really is. Using the alias Amber Tharp, she frequents the town, never allowing for anyone to find out her true identity.
