Isla leaned back in her chair, twirling her spoon between her fingers as her expression remained indifferent to the recent unfortunate news regarding Alicia‘s special box. “No, she doesn’t. Just like I’m sure we never knew what exactly was in the box to begin with.” her gaze drifted lazily up from her momentary distraction. A bold statement but it was true. “Sounds fun. Are we done with the fancy dresses and fake smiles?”

evelyn stood near alicia’s chair, her arms locked behind her back as she watched the reactions that wafted over their faces. evelyn could still feel the hard lead of her gun against the back of her mouth - her mission on the east coast left a bitter taste in her mouth, just like every time she stepped out as a rose to do amelia baker’s dirty work. her eyes flickered briefly to amelia then to isla as they spoke, “whatever it is that’s coming, the roses are more than ready for a fight.” evelyn murmured before turning her attention to alicia.
“We don’t but that does work to our advantage. That box wasn’t naturally procured, ladies, it had been lifted from it’s true owner. One that would love to bring the hammer down on whoever stole it. That’s the thief’s problem now. All of the hero types in this city are all foaming at the mouth for some problem to fix to fluff their egos.” Alicia gaze dropped down to Isla and her mouthy little interruption. Her perfectly manicured hand lifted to still their proceedings. “Do have an issue with the information that is given, Isla. The floor is yours. Please make sure that what you say next isn’t some indignant tantrum.” she gestured. The raging thoughts to blink her into the depths of a Roman’s pet shark tank in Gotham flashed readily through her. “Because if it is, you’re free to leave.”
She paused for a beat not caring if Isla pulled up her big girl britches to challenge her. “We’re going to bankrupt this city and let the wolves in. Word on the street, there’s a bitter little gang of rogues who would like to see Flash’s head on a spike and Oliver Queen with the other half of the Gambit in Northern China sea. We’re going to divide and conquer. I want an elite team to breach Star City while we take the sledgehammer to Central City. I have a late meeting with some old friends from the Quadrant. Damian Diaz did one hell of a number on its members. They’re just the connective tissue to the Ninth Circle. They’re the big daddies we want persuade to our cause.”

Amelia risked a brief glance at Isla after their leader’s thorough scolding, more than just a hint of warning in it. Fear could only keep people in line for so long, she wondered when exactly the rest would hit their breaking point with Alicia’s tactics. “I’m sure Isla just wants to be as effective as possible to the cause.” She tried to mediate, bring Alicia down just enough to focus on the task at hand. “Like we all do.” She nodded at Evelyn’s input, before leaning back in her chair as Alicia continued.
“I have some friends in the Star City DA’s office. I’m sure I can convince one of them to let me in on the details of their case against Queen. There might have been something they missed or didn’t utilise properly.” She suggested. She didn’t know how to wrestle with superheroes, fight gods brought to life, but she knew how to tear down a man’s reputation until he had nothing left to live for. “The Ninth Circle… we sure they’ll be friendly?”

Isla had turned her attention back to the utensil in hand as the others defended their leaders actions. Hypocrites. She knew each of them had voiced their own grievances for their leaders lack of team effort and yet now they were too cowardly to speak up. While the cause of the Roses still had her attention, Isla was beginning to grow weary without a clear game plan and end in sight.
She refrained from rolling her eyes as Amelia defended her to Alicia’s little power trip. A faint hint of lavender gracing her eyes, she spoon in her hand bent sharply before clattering to the table. “No Alicia, just waiting for you to use us instead of sidelining us in the dark. We all on the same side right? she asked, looking up to her indignantly. This is how dictators fell - had she never read Julius Caesar?
