Alfie didn’t respond to what she was saying about his defiance, he wasn’t going to participate in this. if he did survive, he wouldn’t have been able to live with himself if he gave anything at all up. He was adopted, sure, but he had been raised as a Dursley and he did know the Potters. He had expected this would happen, if he was being honest. “Yeah– my uncle frequently talks about torture.” His tone dripped with sarcasm and he glared up at the Death Eater.
“Well then let’s give you a shared experience to bond over----not that you’ll have much time left with him, I’d bet. Crucio.” Harry Potter would not last long in a world ruled by The Dark Lord, not again, she knew. The spell came easily to her, from years of tutelage under her father and his friends; Ronan was taught as well, but she was expected to carry on the family’s legacy, and that meant proving their loyalty to the Dark Lord’s cause----whatever it took. A few minutes passed and she could only look down on him in morbid curiosity----she’d mostly used the curse on animals when she was learning to cast it, and it’s effects on a human were..... more striking, somehow. She lifted the curse and crouched down next to him, “Maybe now you’ll feel like a TRUE part of the family, instead of the mudblood outcast that you really are.”
