I see… Fallon. Whenever your ready you let me know" he responded kissing the hand he held in his own. He expected it so it didnt surprise him. Although they said they wouldnt hide things from each other he knew it would take time. “I learned fairly quickly not to ask questions when someone is bloody that and you were to shaken to talk.” He gave her a pointed look when he said bloody. Standing up from the chair with her still in his arms. Issac placed Fallon in the seat he once occupied. Reaching beside him he handed Fallon a stack of filters. “Order something I’m starving”.

In that moment, Fallon felt even more grateful for Issac, as she took in his response. And to think that this could have been their relationship had they worked out their issues sooner. But better late than never. Letting out a light laugh as he lifted her up, she nodded her head when he put her down, taking the flyers from him. After placing an order, her phone flashed again with the number she’d been waiting all night to hear back from. “Is it done?” she asked in a hushed tone. “You know I can’t erase it all if you left fingerprints. But I changed the timeline of the security footage, so it puts you at the scene and leaving an hour early.” Sighing, she thanked him then ended the call. Fallon cursed under her breath, tossing her phone on the coffee table, as she tried to think of what to do now. She really screwed herself with this one.

Issac had a system. A step by step on how to get rid of evidence it was also mainly why his apartment main color was black and the clothes he wore were usually all black. A normal person would have asked her what was it for. But issac knew better then to ask her. It probably was Dean busine- WAIT A MINUTE! What did she just say? “You done something without the Dean’s? What was this for?” he asked her half hoping shes willing to share but half knowing if she didnt that’s just Fallon for you.

Knowing which last time Issac was referring to, she replied, “Last time it was a good friend. A real friend.” He seemed to be taking her explanation well, but Fallon had to remind herself that he was a part of the syndicate world too. This probably wasn’t anything new for him. Before she discovered his real identity, she always had to be vague about her work. But now, she had to admit that it felt nice finally having someone to share this with and someone who understood. It was only when he asked what this was for that she realized that maybe there were some things that she couldn’t share with him. Not yet anyways. He was a close friend of Victoria’s after all, so she didn’t know where he would stand in all of this.

“Like I said, no one can know that I was involved. Baby, I wish I could tell you, but it’s not the right time yet. Please understand,” she replied, giving him another kiss, hoping to make up for not giving him an answer. “You know, you’ve never asked about that night that I showed up here covered in blood. We hadn’t known each other for long when it happened.”

“This isnt the first time, you know where the bathroom is.” Issac said as he took away her bloody things to get rid of evidence like hes done numerous of times for himself. One reason he chose his apartment complex was because there was no cameras for 2 blocks… none that work properly anyways and when they installed a new one he paid the neighborhood kids to break it ‘accidentally’. When Fallon joined him in the living room, Issac had already destroyed and cleaned up evidence. “You good? ” he asked her holding out a hand to her and pulling her to sit on his lap.

After stepping out of the shower, Fallon pulled on one of Issac’s shirts and a pair of his boxers before joining him in the living room. Taking his hand, she settled in comfortably on his lap, then wrapped her arms around him. In response to his question, she gave him a soft kiss before replying, “I am now. Thank you.” Though she knew she wouldn’t really be okay until she received a call from Reid telling her that he’d done his job. But until then, being here with Issac was enough. Resting her head on him, she continued to contemplate on how she should explain what had happened to him, or if she should tell him at all. This would have been another thing that the old Fallon would have locked away in her chamber of secrets. But this Fallon had told Issac that she wasn’t going to shut him out anymore. So, she could only hope that everything he’d told her that night was still true. 

“It’s going to come out in the news that a New York City councilman and his wife are dead in what appears to be a murder-suicide,” she began to explain. “I met the councilman’s wife a few months ago and we became… close, I guess you could say. She called me earlier tonight to meet her. Everything just… escalated so quickly. She pulled the trigger before I could stop her, so then I-… I couldn’t call the cleaners on the Dean payroll. They’re public figures, so it would be too suspicious and… no one can know I had anything to do with this. This wasn’t anything to do with the Dean’s.”

As usual without looking to see who was on the otherside of the door. Issac swung open his door while taking in a pull from his joint. Noticing who it was he began to cough and waved his hand in the air in attempts to get rid of the smoke and scent, putting it out he leaned on the door casually. “Hey baby” he step aside to let her in and despite his high he caught a whiff of a scent he was familiar with. Closing the door issac reached over to Fallon and tugged at her trench coat “what happened to you?” He asked her helping her take off the coat to asses the damage.

Turning her head as soon as she heard the door unlocked, she was met with a face full of smoke. Immediately recognizing the scent, she began to scrunch her nose in distaste. Stepping inside, Fallon told him to hurry and close the door as she crossed the room to look out his window. No cops. Yet. Walking back over to Issac, she let him pull at her coat before he helped her take it off. “Careful, I got blood on that too,” she warned, as he held the coat. At his question, she met his gaze briefly before glancing down at herself. This was all a strange sense of dejavu, like the night Chris had “died” five years ago, where she’d shown up at Issac’s doorstep, covered in blood and sobbing uncontrollably. The only difference was that she was eerily calm about the whole situation this time.

“I-,” she began to say before letting out a deep sigh. How was she going to explain this to him? “Can you get a bag?” she asked instead, trying to buy herself some time before she had to explain. Unbuttoning the blood-soaked blouse, Fallon handed it to him before slipping off her pants as well. “Can I explain later? …The cops could show up any minute now if they caught my license plate and I can’t look like… this,” gesturing to the blood still on her body.

She knew she shouldn’t have agreed to meet with the councilman’s wife, but if she was going to keep up the part of playing the woman’s confidant, she couldn’t say no. Bang! Bang! The idiot didn’t even think to buy a silencer. “Mrs. Kline, you have to give me the gun,” she urged again, keeping her voice calm, despite the councilman bleeding out on the floor beneath her. “Shh it’s okay, I know you didn’t mean to do it.” She continued soothing the woman, as her hand slowly wrapped around the hand that held the gun. Bang!

Fallon always had a plan and a backup plan, and a backup plan to that backup plan. But when you had just witnessed the councilman’s wife kill her husband in a hotel room, there was no time for plans and backup plans. So she went to the first person that came to mind. Knocking on Issac’s door, she looked up and down the hallway praying that no one would walk by. Wrapping her trench coat tighter around her, she could feel her soaked blouse sticking to her.

How foolish can she be? Has he not been telling her or showing her his love for her? How far must one go before theres an understanding? “I dont love you Fallon” issac began. Seeing her expression fall and her about to move away from him. Issac grabbed her by her fore arms and continued “ I do not love you. What i feel for you is much more then love. It’s like how a fish needs water how humans need oxygen. I dont want you, I need you Fallon. And even if your the worst in the world call me a masochist because I’ll still need you. A break may be needed if you keep pushing me away but I’ll always come back for you babe.” Issac told her truthfully pulling her in close. He wiped her tears and kissed her forehead.

Fallon had pictured him saying those words to her countless of times before, but nothing compared to the real thing. She knew it. From the moment that Issac had left her, she feared that it would be true. It was one thing to know that he’d been angry with her, hated her for what she’d done even, but to actually hear him say that he didn’t love her… it was too much. Tears began to blur her vision, as she turned away, not wanting him to see how much his words had affected her. Hearing him repeat those four words again, she found it hard to breathe, as if she’d been stabbed. She would rather be stabbed a hundred times than to feel this right now.

But then he began to explain. Turning to face him, confusion slowly began to turn to realization. Relief washed over her as she took in his words. Her smile only faltered when he mentioned taking a break. “And I’ll always be here for you to come back to,” she replied softly, letting him pull her towards him. That was the truth. No matter what they did to hurt each other, no matter how much they tried to fight it or tried to let go, in the end, they will always come back to each other. She was his as much as he was hers. They needed each other because life just didn’t make sense otherwise. It took her all this time to finally see that.

Shaking her head, Fallon let out a shaky breath. “I don’t want to push you away anymore. I’m tired of being angry with you. I’m tired of keeping my walls up with you. I’m tired of trying to fight this. I can’t do it anymore. I don’t want to fight this anymore. Issac, every part of me loves you so much that I can’t even begin to explain it. I need this. I need you. I will always need you.” Her hand reached up towards his face, leaning in to close the distance between them, as she kissed him, pouring out all her emotions into the kiss.

Issac responded to Fallon kiss with his own. He had almost a year worth of time to make up with her. Picking her up he walked towards the bedroom with every intentions of making her not being able to get out of bed the next day.

Fallon grew quiet as she considered Issac’s questions. She had managed to get through the last six months without him, but if she was being truthful with herself, she couldn’t exactly call it living. Some dark thoughts had crossed her mind and she’d coped with it by throwing herself into her work. She’d become an empty, hollow version of herself. “Maybe you don’t love me, but you can’t let me go.” That statement hit her hard. She opened her mouth to ask how he could say that, how he could say that she didn’t love him, but it made sense, didn’t it? Her doubts, her questions, her actions even. I won’t question it. I won’t doubt it. I’ll believe you and I’ll believe that we’ll make this work somehow. We’ll put everything behind us and have a clean slate. I just… need to hear you say it.”

And right there. Issac had his answer. No matter of their situation and no matter what he would do. Fallon wasnt going to accept or trust him fully. Could he blame her? No. This life made people cynical. Issac leaned back into the chair quietly and went back to staring at the window. After a moment of dead silence issac told her the truth as to why he pulled out from the position. Even when he denied the spot until he realized he could see her at the meeting and thought it wasnt so bad. “- but it doesnt matter it would seem (chuckles) Your reluctance speaks more volumes”. Downing the rest of the wine in one gulp. Issac continued “you cant trust me and I cant trust you. We arent perfect but as long as everything is alright between us. We could make anything work.” He took up his keys from the coffee table and shoved them in his pockets. He looked anywhere but her. “Just RIP the bandage off Fallon if you don’t want to be with me. I’ll stop bothering you. You wont even have to see me again.”

“Now was that so hard?” she asked, the faintest hint of playfulness in her tone. Yet it did little to lighten the mood. Listening to Issac as he explained why he decided to resign, Fallon felt her heart sink. It all came down to her and what he did for her. He agreed to the position because of her and he resigned from it because of her. Could she ever do the same for Issac? Could she ever give up her life’s work for him? She prayed that she would never be asked that question because she was afraid of what her answer might be. All of this only made it more clear that she didn’t deserve him. Even after everything that she’s done, he had left their relationship up to her to decide. Her heart ached thinking about how much Issac still loved her and still wanted to make this work, despite everything that’s happened.

“Maybe I’m reluctant because I don’t want to go through the past six months again. I don’t want to go through you hating me again, or you leaving me again. I already lost you once. I don’t want to have you back only for it to happen all over again,” she explained, standing up as he got ready to leave. “I can’t- I don’t think I’ll get through it a second time,” her voice softened. “How am I supposed to believe that you still want to be with me after everything? I hounded you for months for an annulment. I hired someone to look into your past, your brother’s past. I kept the truth about your sister’s biological parents a secret. I killed your adoptive father for my own gain. How can you still love me after all of that? Don’t tell me that I’m the one who doesn’t want to be with you when you have every reason to feel that way too.”

“Some one sounds jealous ” he teased her when she implied how close they were. Victoria was just Victoria to him. Nothing more nothing less. But he could understand why she was being rather cheeky about it. The friends she met were all dudes, with the only female figure in his life are joelle, his mum and jessi from the shop. “The girl who ate a bag of dehydrated bugs to prove a point got food poisoning? That’s just odd” he said more to himself then to Fallon.

At her next question issac response was simple. He did it because this position was one of the reason Fallon didnt want him. It was also something he didnt want in the first place. Yet it mind boggled him that Arnold would appoint him as underboss upon his passing. He wasnt capo. He wasn’t a soldier or even an associate. He was Arnold death dealer. He knew there must have been a reason but he would not think about it until he dealt with his much more current problem. The wife.

“I’ll answer your question if you tell me what my verdict is. Good or bad. Depends on your answer.” He told her.

Rolling her eyes, Fallon scoffed at his accusation. “I’m not jealous. Simply stating the facts since this seems to be yet another part of your life that I had to find out about from someone else.” This here was exactly their problem. They thought they knew everything there was to know about each other. Or at least she did. And yet more and more, she felt like she didn’t know Issac at all. Maybe he didn’t really know her either. They both went into this relationship hiding parts of themselves from the other, only sharing what they deemed “important”. She didn’t want that anymore. She was tired of all the mind games and the secret-keeping. She could do that with the Council, with the mafia, even with her own family, but not with the person she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. At one point, Fallon was sure that that person was Issac. But time and time again, her actions seemed to prove differently. Given everything that had happened between them, did she still feel that way? Maybe she didn’t have an answer for him after all.

“And what if my answer depends on your answer?” she asked, raising an eyebrow at him. “I don’t have a simple yes or no, good or bad answer for you. You know that I love you and I always will, but it’s not that simple. We can’t just pick up where we left off, not after everything that’s happened. We can’t have a relationship, a future together, that’s just pure blind love. How do I know that I can trust you and that I won’t just wake up one morning to you walking out on me? How do you know that you can trust me?”

Issac was out of the door as soon as the council meeting was over. He gave a brief nod at Alek and ignored the calls of an angry Zhou boss. All because he didnt want to deal with him yet. Not yet anyways. He swang by a liquor store to get his hands on the drink of Fallon choice and made his way to her place. Her code was still the same which made him think it’s a promising night but after the wtf look she gave him at the council who really knows what goes on in her thought process as of lately.

“Were you waiting long?” He heard her voice ask him. Looking away from the skyline he took a seat waiting for her to do the same. “Not long at all. Honestly it was fun mayhem. Bitch boy is going to try and take my shares to save face but Dimitri is the star. He forever snaps back and alek sweetens his word. How was Victoria Mendoza? ” he asked her generally curious about his friend.

“Dimitri Voznesensky sure is… something,” she nodded her head, remembering how hard of a time the Russian mob boss had given her when she first joined the meetings. Pausing at Issac’s question, Fallon got up to grab some wine glasses. “You could just ask her yourself, you know. Since you two are so close,” she replied. Sitting back down, she reached for the bottle of wine, unscrewing the cork with a little more force than necessary. It was only when she held the bottle up to pour that she noticed that he had gotten her favourite wine after all. “Apparently she got food poisoning from eating street meat. She was doing better when I left,” she finally added, sliding one of the glasses across the coffee table towards him. "Some one sounds jealous " he teased her when she implied how close they were. Victoria was just Victoria to him. Nothing more nothing less. But he could understand why she was being rather cheeky about it. The friends she met were all dudes, with the only female figure in his life are joelle, his mum and jessi from the shop. "The girl who ate a bag of dehydrated bugs to prove a point got food poisoning? That's just odd" he said more to himself then to Fallon.

At her next question issac response was simple. He did it because this position was one of the reason Fallon didnt want him. It was also something he didnt want in the first place. Yet it mind boggled him that Arnold would appoint him as underboss upon his passing. He wasnt capo. He wasn't a soldier or even an associate. He was Arnold death dealer. Even as Fallon pulled into the parking garage, she was still recovering from the bomb that Victoria had dropped on her earlier. How close she and Issac were, how she knew about their relationship, the marriage, and who knows what else. Just when she thought things were looking up for their relationship, she finds this out. What was she really upset about though? If Victoria was telling the truth, Issac only told her seven months ago. So technically he hadn’t lied to her when she asked him almost a year ago who else, besides his mom, had he told about their relationship. Still, however logical she tried to be about what just happened, she couldn’t help but question her answer for Issac. Maybe she should cancel tonight. Maybe she needed more time to think. But coming home, seeing Issac already there waiting for her, it was too late to cancel.

“Were you waiting long?” she simply asked, kicking off her heels and putting her bag down before joining him in the living room. Deciding not to dive into her conversation with Victoria yet, Fallon took a seat across from him, as she asked, “So how do you think the meeting went?”

Issac was out of the door as soon as the council meeting was over. He gave a brief nod at Alek and ignored the calls of an angry Zhou boss. All because he didnt want to deal with him yet. Not yet anyways. He swang by a liquor store to get his hands on the drink of Fallon choice and made his way to her place. Her code was still the same which made him think it’s a promising night but after the wtf look she gave him at the council who really knows what goes on in her thought process as of lately.

“Were you waiting long?” He heard her voice ask him. Looking away from the skyline he took a seat waiting for her to do the same. “Not long at all. Honestly it was fun mayhem. Bitch boy is going to try and take my shares to save face but Dimitri is the star. He forever snaps back and alek sweetens his word. How was Victoria Mendoza? ” he asked her generally curious about his friend.
