Cheers to friendship!
I just got back from an amazing vacation in Greece, where I reunited with some of my best friends. I had the time of my life! and it was so great to be around amazing people that I adore! Although this blog is dedicated to the positive/good things, this trip did get me thinking about the friends that Iâve had throughout my life, that are no longer my friends.
I value my friendships very much and all the people that have come and gone were very much valued and appreciated and loved the time that they spent with me but sometimes things happen, life happens and the friendship can no longer exist. Either way, whatever the reasons were, there are a couple of people that are no longer around that are truly missed. This is why I cherish and am incredibly grateful for the friends that I do have. Because deep down I know that a true friend never leaves your side, no matter the circumstances.
Traveling...that will always make me happy! :)
Days off, brunch, spring and surprise gifts, These are a few of my favorite things! enjoying this awesome day!
No fuss, No muss!
One thing I hate about being agrownup is all the things that being a grownup compels, paying bills, taxes, formalities and what notâs. The more I can avoid all of that the happier I am! But obviously It canât be avoided forever especially when u accidently purchase an insurance for your debit card at an ATM! #fml
I knew I had to call the bank to cancel it and just the thought of having to talk to an operator at the call center gave me a headache! Not only do they never want to let you cancel anything, they always want to make you feel like an idiot and they talk so fast I get dizzy! I mean I know itâs their job but letâs be real, I donât care. Anyway, so that happened. Called on Monday morning expecting the worst, I had prepared myself psychologically to get into a heated argument with whoever answered; I even called at a moment when none of my coworkers were around in case it went down. Â To my surprise, I didnât struggle one bit! I called, the options were simple enough to follow (press 5 for insurances, press 6 to cancel) the operator that answered was helpful and courteous and the call took less than 5 minutes!
That just made my day so much better!Â
A few days later I realized that they had taken money out of my account to pay for the insurance, dâoh! I thought âoh no! Iâll have to call again!!!!!! And Iâm sure itâll be a hassle to get them to give me my money back. Called again and was surprised once again! âYouâre policy has been cancelled, it was cancelled yesterday morning and your money will be deposited in 48hrsâ Not only that, but I had my money back the next day.
 SUCCESS!!
And you thought you couldnât do it!
This year I achieved what I thought would be the impossible goal... I ran a 10 km marathon (actually it turned out to be 11 km...They decided to throw in 1 more km towards the end, just for kicks! :D).
I trained for two months and a half. It was painful, it was tough and there were times during the race that I wanted to cry, I wanted to stop, my head said "ok, Iâm going to walk now" and my feet kept running. The spectators that were around cheered me on and my iPod played the perfect music for me every km which made me keep going all the way to the end! By far the best experience of 2014!
This photo was randomly taken by a newspaper photographer covering the event. It is an amazing picture given that it is right in front of a popular monument of my home town and it kind of looks like an ad for Nike. Just do it!
Endorphin addiction
I wish I could make endorphin cookies so everyone could feel as happy as I do after I workout. I wasn't always like this and God knows my inner foodie still lives on! but nothing beats the happiness & tranquility I feel after a good workout.Â
