I loved The Dragon Prince.
Don’t let pacifists have the words ‘activism of care’ as a euphemism for their shitty politics. Fuck no. My activism of care means that after you punch a nazi I will disinfect your knuckles and get you some water.
If you’re feeling raw, furious, betrayed, or any number of other things after the confirmation, you’re not alone. At Scarleteen, we’re enraged too. So, s.e. smith rounded up five things that don’t require voting, documented residency, other bureaucratic markers, or cash to make a difference.
THIS IS SO IMPORTANT I’M GONNA DO THIS TOO
Omg yes!!
psssssst geek boys this is also a good and correct reaction if someone tells you they haven’t read X graphic novel or played Y videogame

Capitalists will have children go without food before they give up even the tiniest part of their wealth.
I’ve actually asked Republicans why they’re against feeding children. They believe the kids are hungry because their parents aren’t working hard enough. Republicans think people will work harder if their children are hungry. In other words, they believe it’s okay to TORTURE CHILDREN to get their parents to do what they want.
re-reblogging because THAT’S SOME SOCIOPATHIC SHIT
More and more large urban school districts are switching to universal free lunch and eliminating even the mechanism for “lunch debt”. They found it was cheaper and more effective to just use Federal Free Lunch money (through a specific grant) to give everyone free lunch rather than fund the bureaucratic steps of having parents register for free lunch.
Houston is the most recent. New York City adopted it last year. It looks like this tweet might have been part of a campaign to convince Buffalo Public Schools to adopt the same program. I can’t find a clear news article on it but it looks like they may have rolled out this program in Buffalo in the fall of 2017.
This is a really good issue to pester your city official and school district about.
he came for his entire life holy shit
I still love this post!
On the way back from a trip to PA we drove by this amazing road cut. I got so excited my SO stopped so we could get out and look. This is an amazing example of a synclinal fold in the basin and range Province of the Appalachians. I learned that this location is Sideling Hill and it was used as an educational site for a while until it lost funding. One of my cohort told me they went their during their sedimentology and stratigraphy field work course! I’m super jealous. There is a coal seam in their somewhere too, but it was too cloudy for me to even see the top of the structure.
Spring comic. Spring is when I miss living in the woods in Wisconsin the most, cool plants, morel mushrooms, my mom pulling wood ticks off my head… just wonderful.
If you like my comic and want to toss some money in my hat here’s a link.

oh to be a small clothed animal from a beatrix potter book, living in a cottage on the countryside kneading bread and such.
The dream
“Throughout its history, America has been defined through maps. Whether made for military strategy or urban reform, to encourage settlement or to investigate disease, maps invest information with meaning by translating it into visual form. They capture what people knew, what they thought they knew, what they hoped for, and what they feared. As such they offer unrivaled windows onto the past.”
