Dont use bi/pan and wlw interchangeably. There are mspec people who aren't women, aren't women aligned, or aren't attracted to women. Bi does not mean wlw, not every single bi person is wlw, mspec boys are already super uncommon in the community, probably because boys don't realize that you can be mspec because of how often people make posts that equate bi and wlw

Don't use nblm and mlm interchangeably. Not all nblm are male aligned, there are plenty of fem aligned, unaligned, or transfem nb people who are attracted to men, and as surprising as this may be to you, lumping them all in with mlm is shitty, and saying "this is a mlm and nblm blog" but then excluding the majority of nblm because you meant boys who love boys is uh, shitty! It's a shitty thing to do

Don't use nblw and wlw interchangeably. For the same reasons as above, but also, because as a transmasc nb who is nblw, having a bunch of blogs telling me that my attraction is sapphic is uhh, makes me dysphoric and has made me actually shy away from my attraction to girls! Here is the translation group’s credit page, so thank you all of these people [except maybe the scanner/cleaner, although they are both still at fault for belonging to a group like this] for letting this happen :]

Another example [in anime not manga] that i dont have screenies of is a sub translation of Haikyuu that i know is on 9anime and probably in other places as well, where the translator subbed ‘baka’ as the r slur, and i could literally hear the voice actors saying baka. it got so out of hand that i ended up waiting watching Haikyuu on hulu when i could pay for it

this is about independent/unofficial translators, since, for most of us who can’t get the official translations, those are the translations we are reading/watching. ofc official translations dont do this but, unfortunately, unofficial translators are the majority and this is an incredibly rampant problem
