so like uh jessica jones pilot episode is definitively one of the best pilot episodes of anything i’ve ever seen, it’s steeped in realism and truth and the visual effects and cinematography were unmatched by anything marvel has ever put out, the characterizations were very rich and real, it was all around incredible. i’m really excited for it to come out because i think a lot of people will be blown away by the quality.

  that being said: since i’ve seen it and i know that a lot of people are highly anticipating it, i want to put out a warning long before it releases on Nov 20th.

as an abuse victim, the show was kind of triggering for me and could potentially be very triggering and upsetting to others. here are some of the things to keep in mind that the first episode had, being as vague as i can so as not to spoil anything:

graphic violence

blood

graphic sex

paranoia/dread

scenes of unreality of some kind

again, there could be more, but this is what i can remember–i just don’t want anyone to go into it not knowing and then get triggered and/or hurt.

Seriously. Just reading synopses of Alias (the comic upon which the series is based) can be be pretty damn disturbing. Jessica’s story is not a pleasant one and people should definitely proceed with caution.
