"I think love is, well, growing up, I struggled to find any meaning or clear definition to love. I remember being 8, or maybe 9, smelling dust through the church corridors and hearing the man in front say “to love is to wish the best for someone.” Its stuck with me ever since. Since then, it didn’t need to be defined. Love was waiting for him/her to get in the car, so I could say “get home safely, and tell me when you do”. Love was telling her she’s beautiful, hoping she understood it and felt it too. And maybe love was, and is, as simple as a “good luck”, “drive safe”, “stay warm”, “do you know you’re beautiful?” Because when we feel this seemingly infinite tenderness for someone, we’re really just speaking behind barriers, “do you know that i love you? Because i am always wishing the best for you” We speak in love, we do love, we breathe it. Theres a hunger for it, and we are all unapologetically human, waiting for someone to have hope for our well being and our purpose, whether we need it desperately or not. “the most terrible poverty is loneliness, and the feeling of being unloved”
