I had an appointment at 1:00, and since I didn't have any meetings, I decided to take the day off. I wanted an incentive to still get up early, so I was going to take myself to breakfast, and then I decided to ask my dad if he was free, so we went to a local spot that had just reopened after a fire.
Then he asked if I could go up on the roof to fix one of their permanent Christmas lights.
I took my leftovers home and by then Bookstore #2* was open, so I took two boxes of books to trade (that I'd already taken to Bookstore #1 a few weeks ago). I found five of the six seasons of Justified and Sense & Sensibility on DVD and then also a Jaws themed board game that I'll take to the lake this summer.
Then I went back home to get two more boxes of books and took them to Bookstore #1. I picked up a watermelon breeze smoothie from Jamba Juice and then from muscle memory accidently drove back to my parents', so I put some books that neither store took in my mom's Little Free Library.
I went home to finish my smoothie and change because it's rather hot and then went to my neurologist.
I'm back at Bookstore #2 with that second group of books. I'll pull out some that they don't take for my mom, but then everything else will go to Goodwill tonight. Then I'll go to my favorite yoga class and the grocery store.
I have excused myself from my silly little walk and a workout video because I'm already at 5300 steps (which is a lot for me this early in the day), I'm getting sore from last night's power vinyasa class, and I'm tired of carrying these boxes across parking lots.
*Bookstore #1 is primarily new books but does take popular books used. They pay out a little more but are more selective. This is also the bookstore I worked at in high school and college. Bookstore #2 is all used media though they've started carrying some popular books new, and I'll confess that it really throws me for a spin. Also there are still two more banker boxes that need to go through this process, and I haven't even finished going through all my bookshelves yet.
