I donât read. Reading is for when youâre old and can no longer move, so Iâll take your word for it.
Thatâs...a very specific opinion.

Well, some chores, I guess. Doing the dishes is the worst. Iâd rather rebuild than do that any day.
Oh, dishes arenât so hard. Â Much easier than rebuilding, Iâm sure.
She opened her mouth to respond before shutting it and just pulling Giselle into a hug.
She hugged Violet back, crying a little longer before getting herself back under control and reducing the tears to the occasional sniffle.  âGoodness,â she finally mumbled with a shaky laugh. âIâve gone and soaked your shirt.  Iâm sorry.â
âIâm sorry about that. We, well I wouldnât say we were friends exactly, but heâd drag me into some of his crazy ideas so I guess I knew him sorta well. He was a good guy.â
âHeâs--he was a wonderful person. Â I know he--Pippen could be a little much at times, but he always means well. Â He just--he was so--â
-smiles- Well, it definitely beats monastery chores, thatâs for sure.
Does it? Iâll take your word for it.
âNo, itâs just a bit strange to watch a middle-aged woman sitting alone speaking to a book: quite a sad sight.â
âIâm sure it is. Â Or, very uncommon at least.â
âHey, are you okay?â
âI will be.â
Ok, then follow me! [she said as she began to walk towards a corner of her store] Theyâre really sweet, so donât they probably wont bite or anything.
Probably...?
Well, itâs my school too. And, if I want to spend a year there, Iâve got to make sure itâs in top condition again.
Yes, but Iâm sure not all of your peers feel the same way. Well--not thereâs anything wrong with wanting to go home or to be with friends to try and move past it. Â But itâs very admirable to want to help.
âReally? You donât seem so sure?â
âReally. Â Itâs nothing.â She smiles, closing the book and setting it aside. Â âCan I help you with something?â
âYeah I can see that. I donât think he shut up about his own writing. But yeah, I picked it up after I met him.â
âHe was always so proud of it. Â I just--I wish I had appreciated it more. Â When he was around.â
âAnd what did your, brother, do to make him such a  silly boy?â
âThe story he wrote--or, well. Â Yes. Â Yes, the story.â
Well you described me perfectly without even trying didnât you? -he looks at the book- Good?
Oh, Iâm sure. -she laughs, nodding at the book- Yes, very good.
âIt probably is. The summary looks like what he was talking about.â
âHow wonderful.â
Well, I want to help repair the castle, really.
Oh, how sweet of you. Â Thatâs very kind, to give your time to the school.
âYeah, sure.â She takes the book and looks at the cover for a moment before responding. âI havenât read it, but I think I remember my dad saying something about it. If itâs the one I think it is, he thought it was pretty good.âÂ
âOh, wonderful! Â I hope itâs the same book.â
I sort of am â but, Iâll be spending part of my summer here..
Oh, how wonderful! Â Staying with friends?
