The trauma of being undiagnosed is way too common and I feel so deeply for y’all, but I’ve never heard anyone discuss the struggles that come with early diagnosis. I think often about the lack of agency I had as a 12 year old when I was first put on adderall. It really messed me up, and nobody paid much mind to my depressive symptoms because they made me quiet and less difficult.
Not to come whining and advocating against traditional medicine or anything. I guess I’m just reflecting on the fact that even with the decade head start I still don’t feel like I’ve found the correct tools to function as an adult.
