This path is a lonely path...
So don’t be surprised when a time comes when you become a stranger among people you thought were strangers like yourself.
The longer you remain on this blessed path, the more the people will see you as someone who baffles them because a person who chases this dunya will always find ambitions for the aakhirah strange.
This path is a lonely path.
You will never be understood. Not by your family nor by your friends. But you must remain firm, because this is the era of those who remain firm.
This path is a lonely path.
Because the lovers of the dunya have nothing to do with it. It is shunned by most, out of fear of losing the temporary while they don’t realise how they’re ruining their eternal life. It is not sought after except by those rare, few, blessed ones who seek the Face of Allah ﷻ more than anything this worthless world has to offer.
You will be mocked, misunderstood, considered a foreigner in your own homeland, considered a stranger amongst your own friends and family.
But
Know, O beloved, that you aren’t the only one who feels this staggering bite of loneliness, and you certainly aren’t the first.
This is the path, where Rasulullah ﷺ was rejected by his own family and tribe, the path where Yusuf عليه السلام was thrown into prison for a crime he never committed. And the examples are many.
Know, O beloved, that you have chosen this path knowing all the hardships, and so you must bear them with patience and walk upon this path with a smile on your faces. Because this is the path for which the Sahabah رضي الله عنهم gave their lives. This is the path of the few, blessed, chosen servants of Allah. So strive to be from amongst them.

“The path of truth is solitary. Those who traverse it are lonely; they are not wanted, nor their aspiration. Leisurely do they travel, with resolution. Of what they seek, people are heedless, for, about the truth, most are careless.”
— Ibn Rajab al Hanbali, Journey of the Strangers, pg 37.
“This path is paved with torn-off limbs, irrigated with blood, surrounded by trials. Its tribulations and fitnah waylay you on this path. But as long as you know your goal, and the way is clear to your sight, pursue your journey whatever the case is.”
{Shaykh Abdullāh ‘Azzām تقبله الله}
Arrow in the heart
Imam Shafi’ee رحمه الله once said:
“There is an ayah in the Qur’an that is like an arrow in the heart of every oppressor and at the same time a source of comfort for the heart of the oppressed.” People asked: “What is it?” He replied:
وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيًّا
“And never is your Lord forgetful”
[سورة مريم : 64]
“Our five daily prayers are a way to curb over-attachment to anything material. The five prayers regulate our lives with their specific timings to teach us that indeed God is greater than anything else that we might be occupied in at that moment. The dawn prayer teaches us that the most beloved thing to us, comfort and sleep, should not control us – so we rise up in the cold morning, wash ourselves and pray in an acknowledgement that God is greater than our love of comfort and sleep. The midday and afternoon prayer teaches us that no matter how engrossed we are with work or the short lunch hour that we so highly value, it’s not the purpose of our existence. So we leave it for a few minutes and stand and pray testifying that God is indeed greater. On Friday, we dedicate most, if not all of our lunch hour to attend the Friday sermon and prayer. The dusk prayer, that time when we’re finally home and about to spend time with our family, eat dinner or simply relax – we get up and pray together to confirm that God is Greater than any of that. Finally the night prayer, Isha’ – when we’re tired after a long day of work and responsibilities ready to fall into bed and sleep, we pray again proving that submitting to God is greater than falling into the warm bed. All these serve as constant reminders to us that as much as we love life, we live for a higher purpose.”

I fell in love with love. And then I let it kill me.
Poetry At Most
Uvijek ću to imati.
I don’t try to check up on you anymore. Because you might be happier without me, or you might be falling apart without me. And I don’t know which would hurt more.
Poetry At Most
“If I ever stop talking to you & remove you from my life, I hope you understand how hard that was for me. I have a bad habit of holding onto the little bit of good in people, no matter how bad they clearly are for me. So if I don’t fuck with you anymore, it’s bc you pushed me past my limits.”
