HEATED RIVALRY | Season 1, Episode 3, "Hunter"
my bisexual queen i never doubted you
"Red white and royal blue is too cringy" "heartstopper is too unrealistic" yeah maybe but so is every single other rom com under the sun. Why does queer media always need to be realistic and profound while straight stories get more freedom to be silly and fantastical?
oh but how absolutely monumental it still is to have all these big and mainstream pieces of queer television right now. remember how excited you got when there was one character who said he was bi or gay only then to be killed or written off or treated horribly by both writers and the public. remember how hard it was to find queer shows and movie that didn’t make you hate yourself or so angry or scared. remember how seen you felt about that one queer kiss or that one coming out or within one particular character! yes, devastating sad queer pieces are important. fucked up queer stories need to be told. queer period pieces and dramas with unhappy endings too. but queer happiness, queer young and old love, queer cringe, queer joy- we deserve that too.
need a uquiz like ‘is this quote from Ken of Barbie or Nandor of WWDITS?’ starting with the one that’s like ‘i stopped caring about the patriarchy as soon as i found out it has almost nothing to do with horses’
the thing that gets me about about barbie is that barbie land wasn’t even purposefully a matriarchy, barbie land came about because of the way little girls were playing with their barbies, it wasn’t created by mattel it was created by the people using the toys, so the fact that the barbies ignored the ken’s and had girls night every night wasn’t because they had some bias against him, it was just an accurate depiction of how kids play with barbies. I had some ken dolls as a child and they were essential to the plot in the sense that of course my barbie has a boyfriend because that represented the world i saw around me, but also he didn’t have any purpose in my dream world because i was only interested in what the girls were doing because they represented me and how i wanted to be, I wanted girls night every night I wanted the girls to be president and austronauts and not because of some inherent feminist idea but because I was a girl and I wasn’t thinking about boys, ken was an accessory. this movie wasn’t made to change the world but it showed a different perspective than what we usually see which I thought was fun. Men don’t have to be the centre of all our stories and its not even because we hate them, sometimes we’re just not thinking about them
Barbie was about motherhood and belonging and feminism and love and identity and toxic masculinity and existentialism and humanism and it was, most importantly, pink.
"poor people are happier with less" and "money won't buy happiness" is literally classist propaganda. stop buying into it and start making molotov cocktails
“money won’t make you happy” well i’d be a lot happier if i knew a medical bill wouldn’t send me into financial ruin
Money doesn’t buy happiness is suppose to be applied to Rich cunts hoarding money! not poor people trying to make ends meet!
Comrade Cunk
3rd knives out movie but it’s just philomena cunk doing an interview w/ benoit blanc
GENRE: COMEDY
Severance is about rebellion, about people who were literally created to obey finally questioning and breaking through that conditioning. There’s a storyline about someone doing a complete 180 and choosing to rebel when they realise they have a child that they’re not allowed to see, and I love that the storyline wasn’t given to the female lead, but to a previously comic male character. There’s a storyline about breaking protocol because for the first time ever you have fallen in love, in intense, overwhelming, impossible love, and I love that the storyline wasn’t given to the female lead, but to a pair of awkward old guys. The storyline about grief and guilt also goes to a guy, to the male lead.
I love that the female lead is the only one whose radicalisation comes entirely from within, the person motivating her is her, she’s not doing it for anyone else, she wants her freedom, and failing that, she wants bloody revenge even at the cost of utter self-destruction.

lmao who’s running the hbo max twitter
Wait, what could a Broadway star possibly wish they did instead? Alright, don’t laugh. But I’ve always wanted to be a children’s librarian.
