This is the questioner for the recorded interviews I’ll be asking to all the people involved in the pub and will insert on MP2.
Point of inspiration for my MP1 project
London – The Modern Babylon is legendary director Julien Temple’s epic time-travelling voyage to the heart of his hometown.
From musicians, writers and artists to dangerous thinkers, political radicals and above all ordinary people, this is the story of London’s immigrants and bohemians and how together they changed the city forever. Reaching back to London at the start of the 20th century, the story unfolds through film archive and the voices of Londoners past and present, powered by the popular music from across the century. It ends in 2012, as London prepares to welcome the world as it hosts the Olympics.
‘Its collage technique, humanism and sympathy for ordinary people has much in common with the vision of Britain created by Danny Boyle’s team for the opening of the Olympics…A movie to cherish.’ Philip French, The Observer
The Widow’s Son
After three years of studying photography at the Westminster University I realised that every single photographic project I work on after a while takes a shape by itself, I can decide to focus on a specific subject but it is only after taking the pictures that I actually realise the nature of the subject matter.
In my MP1 I will present a series of portraits, indoors and outdoors that just allows the viewers to feel the the smell of the pub, to know the people I have been so lucky to meet in this place, to understand that this place is the result of the work of people who love and take care of each other.
I will narrate my point of view, or rather the point of view of somebody who works there and who can in first place understand what means to be surrounded by the people who often come at the pub and start to talk about their life with the bartender who is on duty that day, obviously accompanied by a cold pint of beer.
in the second semester I will focus on a more formal narrative of the place, its story and its social value.
