The Burn that Burned the Fire

The flame that burned, but no one was lighting it. There was no denying it, the flame was alone.

From energy within, the flames burst into kindling, scotching the earth, with no wind, water, or dope, no vapor, and no smoke, and still no spectators to see the fire relentlessly grow.

But the ground - it burned slow. Embers in multitudes, yet the flame questions his solitude.

There were feelings of loss and abandonment, a cold flame stranded, but it all didn't matter since it felt like his last time doing this.

Then he began to rest, settling under a duvet of soot and ashes. Next time he thought, his friends will come closer to stay and watch....

That little death which we call sleep? What a frightening thing. There's no guarantee the person you thought you knew will still be the same when they awake. Dreams make us see crazy things. They make us feel joy and fear to unparalleled extents. Sometimes at the same time. But it's just a dream right? And when we wake up, it'll all be the same, We'll pick up where we left off, And all the familiar places and faces, They'll all still look the same right? And sound the same? And act the same? So then... What made me change?
