the worst bit is: there's a little smile, eyes crinkling, and a tiny eyebrow raise at the end. as if aziraphale is thinking;

'oh my gosh, he seems sad but... maybe ive convinced him this is worth it? maybe he's going to do this for me? with me? he's putting his glasses on, we're about to leave the bookshop, we're about to walk out, tell the metatron we'll help, and then we'll be together... right? right?

he normally puts his glasses on when we leave the shop, or when he's vulnerable... and it can't be the latter, because it's me! id never hurt him! he knows that!

and ive just told him that heaven wants to make it up to him, for the fall... we can rebuild heaven back to what it was always meant to stand for. and crowley is going to be by my side when we do this!

does this mean im enough for him to decide to brave this with me? its going to be awful going back to heaven, but as long as we have each other... im not going to ever be alone again, never be lonely again..
