“Those shoes are ugly as sin.” Wrinkling up her nose at the shoes in Adeline’s hands. “You can do way better than those.” Pointing towards the shoes, she took a couple steps away from them. “What color are you ever looking for again?” She asked as she continued to browse the shoe isle they were in. “Is this some formal thing with the hubby or some ballet thing?”

“That shirt isn’t your color.” Katarina spoke from behind the person, she took a couple steps forward to make her presence known. “While everyone thinks yellow is coming back and is there color it’s honestly no ones.” She rambled on before she started to scan through the colorful racks, she eyed the person closely to match their color platte to them. “Here try this.” Pulling the shirt out in what she assumed would be the right size given the fact she was eyeing measurements. “It’ll make your eyes pop more than the one you have in your hand. Trust me.” She told him, held out the shirt with a tight cool smile on her face.

“ Merlot, large. ” Lucie ordered from the bar of the pub she had just entered.

Yet another audition that she had been cut from, right at the very last round. It felt as though every time she took a step forward, she was always thrown ten steps backwards. She had been back in London for six months now and she still wasn’t any closer to landing a role.

Of course, she could always take the easy way out again. Spend another year working abroad, performing every night, but of course she would be right back here where she was on her return. There had to be a part for her somewhere. She just needed to find it.

Kat sat at the bar drinking from the large glass of wine that she had in front of her. When the door opened she glanced towards the entrance to see a woman come in with a sorrow expression. Listening to her order, she raised an eyebrow at her. “Bad day?” Kat asked, she took another drink from her glass. “You can put her drink on my tab.” She told the bartender with a wave of her hand.

“Oh no, I’m listening. Keep going – - please.”

Sarcasm dripped from every word, thick and heavy on her tongue while her fingers worked aimlessly against random letters to create an auto-corrected mess. The drone of potential conversation could be successfully blocked out with minimal work, but there was no way to avoid the huff of a waitress as she shuffled away from the bar. Far be it from Selena to care; she hadn’t exactly invited anyone for conversation, and she definitely didn’t ask for anyone to sit next to her just as she thought she was safely alone.

Instead of taking the usual approach of ‘if I ignore them, they’ll go away’, Selena made the mistake of scanning the person who apparently had enough social grace to leave a seat between them. Her typing resumed, a lengthy chain sent off to a friend’s number. The familiar sound of an outgoing message came before her cup of coffee was placed in front of her, leaving Selena to mentally reprimand herself for making sure the waitress hadn’t spit in it or something equally disgusting. But still, coffee was coffee and Selena was exhausted – - a long drink revealed that the coffee was ice cold and, judging by the taste, had been left over from the previous day or was simply a particularly shitty, store-bought brand.

“– - My god.” She shuddered, repulsed and suddenly in the mood for speaking to strangers. The kitsch neon sign above the coffee-pots was indicated with a nod of disdain, yet she still took another long drink. “I really hope this isn’t ‘the best coffee in town’.

Katarina sat at her table working on her laptop as she tried to piece together what photos she wanted to use for the April issue. Even though she was trying to focus, the woman next to her was clearly having a fit over the server and the person that was speaking to her. Eying the woman from out of the corner of her glasses, her hands stopped working on her laptop. Listening quietly to the blonde women continue on, she adjusted her glasses.

“You know if you didn’t speak to the staff like that you might actually get better coffee.” She commented sharply. “After all if I was serving you I would make sure to give you the worst coffee I could find and I promise that I would make sure to make it extra cold. Especially with how you’re acting right now.” Turning her nose up as she put both hands together. “Maybe you should learn how to speak to people and your service will be better. After all my coffee is really good.” Pointing to her cup that was almost empty. “After all being a rude bitch gets you nowhere. Especially with the servers.”
