I’ve seen a lot of posts on my dash tonight about users who are threatening suicide, with other Tumblr members posting in effort to try to get ahold of them. I think you all should see this:

IF THERE IS EVER A TUMBLR USER WHO HAS POSTED A GOOD-BYE MESSAGE, SUICIDE NOTE, VIDEO, OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT, PLEASE FOLLOW THIS POST.

1. Scroll to the top of your dashboard.

2. See the circular question mark icon at the top? It’s the third one over from your home symbol. Click on that, and a screen similar to the one in the picture will come up.

3. Where you can type in questions, the box with the magnifying glass at the top, type in the word “suicide.”

4. Click on the first link that shows up. It should say, “Pass the URL of the blog on to us.”

5. Type in the user’s URL and tell Tumblr admin that the user is contemplating suicide and has posted a message indicating that they are going through with it or will be attempting. Hit send! Tumblr administration will perform a number of actions to contact the user and take the necessary steps to prevent the suicide.

as much as i criticize avatar fire and ash, i will be sat for it whenever it is on. its one of those movies that i think is actually quite good while watching, but then the end that focuses solely on spider never fails to pmo. no spider hate though ! he's just a kid ! i just think it was the wrong move to shift the focus off the Sullys. one can argue that Spider is a Sully, but like... why was Lo'ak's storyline glossed over in favor of Spider (in relation to Jake/Neytiri and Quartich)?

i have complicated feelings and idk how to end this post 😗

that’s my biggest grievance about AFAA. i love the movie, i love the trilogy so far. but to market and continue to say that this movie will be lo’ak’s movie, it will be the beginning of the focus on his growth and his arc. and then just throw this HUGE developmental wrench in the story of lo’ak and how he handles his grief and those implications, for spider and his own development within the story itself just doesn’t sit right. spider deserves nuance, he deserves complexity, yes. but not yet. not in AFAA. sure he is grieving the loss of a brother who was one of the few to see him as more of an equal than anyone else. but this was meant to be lo’ak’s movie, it was meant to be about him, about his pain, about his triumph, about how he saw this conflict, his conflict, his issues, his family. not about spider becoming a na’vi-human hybrid who is the first to breathe the air as an outsider, not about spider being the “reason the sully family got here,” not all about spider when there was a character in lo’ak that had SO MUCH POTENTIAL!! and for the People to accept spider as quickly as they did…that’s another thing of mine. i’m not saying i have an issue with spider. just the timeline and what we were promised versus what we were actually shown and given just doesn’t sit right with me.

even kiri deserved more development than just “pandoran savior,” she should have been shown to handle her brother’s death and her relationship with eywa past saving spider and past mind manipulating varang to retreat and pull the mangkwan back. we should’ve gotten lore of her and grace, more of her dreams and her visions, more of her and lo’ak as they navigate this grief together as siblings, even with tuk!! they all deserved more but it was just…sidelined for drama between jake and quaritch while neytiri and varang did a lot of the heavy lifting action wise and emotionally, in terms of the parallel between one another, how they’re essentially each other’s “what if” scenarios.

jake has had his time, his arc is now supplemental to his son. his feud with quaritch is old, it needs to come to an end and quickly. neytiri will forever be central to avatar itself but even she must pass the torch to the next generation, to her son who has proven himself to be even more influential to the na’vi and their way of life than his father, in my eyes.

the humans just need to go, i want more angst within the sully family and between clans itself, with the mangkwan and their twisted knowledge of what eyes has and hasn’t done for them in their eyes. rather than humans continually coming back and finding something new to ruin every movie.

i love these movies though they’re my heart and soul but sometimes i truly do grieve the plot that we were somewhat promised, that’s all🥺

as much as i want jake sully certified husband to grace my screens for all time i could do with less jake vs quaritch ! they could have utilized his screen time by … idk … showing us how he and Lo’ak rebuild their relationship ?

i feel like spider should have been there to encourage jake’s convo w neytiri, for them to confront that but not take over the whole movie 😔 like you said !! it could have been explored later !!

i needed SO MUCH MORE of jake and lo'ak lore i'm truly starved of them!! there were so many plot holes and so little explanation, like jake...your only son left...he's struggling...he needs your support...you should be able to empathize with that...

i honestly wish JC and the final production team treated AFAA like they did with the first movie, about the exploration and development of one or two characters whose narratives were central to the story as a whole, rather than having one character go through this HUGE block of developing plot armor and everyone else is just a supporter in their decisions/actions...spider is truly a great character but it just wasn't his time yet, especially because it felt so out of place with the rest of the movie if that makes sense? felt like a whole white savior thing going on like oh yeah spider's gonna be the hero and he loves pandora jesus who also saved him because he's a miracle that pandora needs like NO!! let that boy struggle, let him grieve, let him go through trauma he's repressed for the sake of trying to fit it but LATER!! it felt like A1's underlying theme that the na'vi needs a white savior to save them but brought more to the front and center, even though lo'ak is the one who like...saves the tulkun for the most part by literally getting close to cussing out his dad and the tulkun matriarch and having ta'nok show them what really goes down??

lo'ak barely even narrated like he was just like 'oh yeah. that happened too. by the way, toruk LOVES my dad. like...loves him loves him.' i wanted more meaningful dialogue and more meaningful narration for a movie that was really meant to be about his development.

girl you're taking the thoughts out of my mind ! everything in avatar 2009 felt intentional and well crafted. i feel like they feel the need to keep trying to make the movies bigger and bigger in scale and the character development/depth really suffered.

it never sat right with me when Jake wanted to go after Lo'ak but everyone stopped him.... just me ?? doesn't Lo'ak need to see how much his dad cares about him after their unresolved conversation ?? like maybe that would’ve minimized the impact of Lo’ak crashing the council but ugh !

i was expecting the film to be more about Lo'ak than it ended up being... like Jake's actual son is right there and they went with Spider... it felt like he was suddenly pushed into the spotlight. don't get me wrong, i do love him and think he's a sweetie, but like you said, it wasn't his time
