Today’s guest lecture on Ahimsa and environmental crisis left me reflecting deeply on the real meaning of non-violence. Ahimsa is not limited to physical actions alone — it also includes our speech, attitude, criticism, and the way we respond to others. In academic spaces especially, disagreement and critical thinking are important, but they should emerge with sensitivity and intellectual responsibility. When knowledge is judged only through the lens of entertainment or immediate engagement, we risk losing the deeper purpose of education itself. The lecture reminded us that the environmental crisis outside is also connected to the violence, restlessness, greed, and insensitivity within human consciousness. True Ahimsa begins not only in action, but also in words, thoughts, and intentions. “Live and Let Live” is not just a slogan — it is a discipline of awareness.
