Removing makeup is the part of the day that I dread the most! I love putting makeup on and wearing it throughout the day but removing it is such a grind for me. For the past couple of years I have been using micellar water on a cotton pad to remove my makeup but recently I thought that it was time for a change and that’s when I decided to test out this product.
Product Details:
“This award-winning cleanser goes on as a solid balm and transforms into a silky oil on the skin. It’s sorbet-soft, lightweight texture effortlessly dissolves stubborn makeup without stripping your own natural oils. Papaya extract works to naturally exfoliate the skin and acerola extract is rich in vitamin C which helps to brighten.”
The Review:
This product comes in a sturdy, smooth plastic container with a reflective pink lid, which I am a huge fan of. This product melts away your makeup so well but unfortunately, I do find that it irritates and stings my eyes if I use it to remove my eye makeup. If I was to use this product to remove my makeup I would have to go in with another makeup remover to remove my eye makeup which can be a hassle. I like to remove my makeup in the easiest way possible so to have use two products instead of one is a hassle.
As this product is a balm product that you apply to the face with your fingers I do find it to be really messy and I just end up with makeup everywhere. When you use this product you still have to go in with another makeup remover to remove the balm and makeup off of your skin. This makes me see this product as pointless as using it is just adding an unnecessary step into my routine.
This product retails for $26 NZD and you get 3.38 ounces/100 ml of product. Even though the price of this makeup remover is good I won’t be purchasing it again. This product would be good for people who wear heavy makeup as it is good for melting the makeup away but I don’t think it’s a necessary product to add into my skincare routine.
Even though I’m not the biggest fan of this product, I do occasionally use it when I’m wearing heavier makeup as I find that’s what it’s good for. If you wear a lot of makeup on a daily basis this product would be great for you!
Pros:
Removes makeup well
Sturdy packaging
You get a lot of product for the price
Cons:
Not suitable for use around the eyes
Can get messy
