Her arms cross as she watches them, attention beig barely pulled to Perrie as she spoke. “It’s not him I worry about. Girls are rough.” She looks ver at her, “3. Almost 4. Already too old.”

“The car mechanic? Tall, built like a tank, looks like Idris Elba?” He couldn’t help but smile and kiss her when she said I love you. Sure, they were peppered in more often in their conversations these days, but he still could never get enough. He got out of the bus quietly enough, but there was some kind of rattling and noise outside like he was banging into pots and pans. There was a minute of silence, until a voice, his voice, could be heard calling; somewhat faraway and most definitely nervous. “Uh, Indi…”

“..Fucki- why do you work out with a man who doesn’t need to work out? Find some other lanky motherfucker, I bet that makes you feel bad as shit knowing he could lift you up with one arm.” She makes a face when he kisses her, a nose wrinkle and a sound that tells him ‘Ew, grooooss’ but still smiles at him as he leaves. Then she hears his voice and she sighs, almost annoyed as she got up, “what the fuck did you do?” she questioned as she got outside.

“I work out with Tony. Or did you forget,” he said, wiggling eyebrows. “Just pull some blankets over me and call me dirty laundry. They won’t find me then.” He giggled, then chortled, then laughed, but had to bury his face in her hair not to be too loud. “Ahh fuck it,” he said, sitting up again with a bit of a headspin. “M'going for a piss.” He edged off the bed to go outside the bus.

“Wait, which one is Tony again?" She asked him seriously, she couldn’t remember anyone’s names anymore. “You are dirty laundry. but I still love you.” She giggled when he started to laugh, hand clapped over her mouth to try to mute it. The girls aren’t going to wake up, but she still squeeked out a laugh. “Don’t fall,” she told him when he got up.

“I thought you already had him on a leash?” Toby asked, bringing his hand up he tapped at his bare ring finger. “Or am I getting that wrong?”

She brings up her hand, offers a smug smile. “No ring, dick. He’s a free man.” Not that Jude would even attempt to cheat on her anymore.

“Matthew!” She stands outside his residence, hands on her hips, and yells. And for Indiana? That’s pretty dang loud. “Matty. Matt. Matt. Matt. Matty. “ She repeats his name in several different ways, possibly to annoy him but she does it out of so much love for the man. She didn’t need anything important, doesn’t mean she wasn’t gunna let him think it wasn’t. breakingthelawson

“You had more than one, ladybug,” he said, smiling drunkenly. “I miss the rain too.” Then he lowered his voice even though the kids would barely register if they were shouting. “Miss fucking you in the rain too,” he nipped at the spot where her ear and jaw connected, and then pretty much was making out with her ear. The last time they’d gotten frisky was that morning and that was of course too long an interval for him. 

“Not as much as you. Where’s your beer gut then?” She prods at his stomach, “Beer’ll give you moobs.” Indiana giggles but he speaks and she raises a brow, mouth tilted in a smirk. “You’re drunk. Go sleep,” she told him, voice stern about it. “Because you’ll be up in a few hours when the girls realize you’re home.”

“You should but, you won’t. Because you know deep down, I mean very little harm to the rugrats.” Toby may not be the nicest person ever but, he’d never do anything to harm or hinder a child. 

“If I need to put a leash on anyone, it’s Jude. Not the kids. They at least kind of listen.”

Letting the toxic smoke fill his lungs Toby tossed the lighter back. “Can’t you just like…put leashes on them or something?” 

“I should punch you in the nuts for that comment.”

Looking at the lighter Toby rolled his eyes. “Why did the rugrats have it in the first place?” He questioned, lighting up the end of the cigarette between his lips anyway.

“They get a hold of everything. You can’t keep anything away from them. They’ll get worse as the get older,” she said with a shrug.

Perrie gets up and walks to the driver’s side of her car, shaking her head as she reaches for her camera bag. “There’s no issue, alright, it’s fine. Obviously humor isn’t your thing.”

She puts her camera away carefully before turning back to face the woman. She smiles and waves at the two kids she’s got with her. “I don’t know if your kids like dogs, but Kier likes kids a lot. They’re welcome to pet him if they want.”

“Oh. I’m plenty funny.” But the women won’t see that for a while. Not until Indiana believes that shes not about to bounce and put those pictures all over social media talking about how weird slabbers are.

She takes a look at the girls, who have been eyeing up the dog since the moment they saw him and she sighs. “Go,” she tells them softly, in a tone Perrie didn’t get at her. “They’ve been around a few dogs. Not for very long.”

“It counted for me,” Jude muttered, almost so quiet that she probably wouldn’t hear. Then louder. “That was some goood weed, man. And the kids being gone was awesome too. We gotta get rid of them more often.” Even though a few days and Jude would actually start to miss their noise, mess and commotion. He looked out onto the small night light plugged into the wall by the twins’ bed, the moonlight drifting in from the cracks of the drawn curtains on the bus, the only sources of light. Then he kissed her stomach. “I think you’re growing a beer gut,” he said with a chuckle. “Also what do you think about going up to Seattle for Thanksgiving? Hawk off the kids to the grandparents, get stuffed with pumpkin pie, wear warm clothes for once,” he spoke dreamily. Then smiled, meeting her eyes glinting in the dark. “Do it at the top of the needle again and not get caught this time.”

She knew that. She did. But she wasn’t there too. Indiana went slower than he did, maybe it was just her height. Maybe it was just her generally not wanting to do things. Like if she ignored them enough they’d go away. She thought it was going to work when feelings started infesting them, but it never did. Just would make her snap and push him against walls. “It was a trip, I’ll agree,” she pushed him away then. “From the one beer I had in the last year? Look who is talking there.” But then just falls back in against him. “We could that. I miss the rain.” Indiana giggled, “Maybe not get caught.”

Allison sensed something like annoyance in the other woman’s emotionless words, and whatever was left of her smile disappeared, expression hardening slightly in defense as she raised an eyebrow. 

“Alright, that’s good to know,” she said neutrally. “I’ll figure it out.” She stooped down to pick up her bag from where she had dropped it, straightening up and digging through it under the pretense of looking for her phone to avoid looking at the other woman as she continued, “Thanks for your help, anyway.”

Indiana just blinked. She had better things to do. Allie was probably off staring Paco down for an ice cream and Kota was probably licking lizards. “You’ll get used to it here. Everyone who stays find their place.”
