cooper felt himself let out a shaky breath when she held onto him tighter. he wanted to stay here, he did. if he could stay in her embrace for the rest of time, he'd do it. but he couldn't. "i love you, quinn. you'll remember that, right? when i'm being... when i'm not acting like me anymore, just- just try and remember that. and stay away from juliette, okay?"

"why are you saying that like a goodbye? you're not going anywhere" she said as defiantly as quinn valentine could sound. her eyes burned at his words, tears falling from her lashes. "i don't want you to go" there had to be something she and their friends could do to help him. quinn nodded her head, sniffling through her tears and heeding the advice he was giving. "i love you too, remember that and come back. promise me you won't give up"

"thanks for having my back. i'll give it one more hour and then i'm comin' for whatever's left of those tiny tartlets. she really is, huh? i am the luckiest guy on the planet getting to watch her shine. i think the bakery's really gonna take off this year too. i'll put you down for doubles when the time comes," cooper grinned. nothin' much changed when it came to him, you could always rely on chuck cooper for a good time. "the peach danishes are outta this world. i'll remind her for you. oh yeah? that's awesome. you two'll be taking over the world in no time."

"you got it, you got half an hour and i'll make a distraction so you can run away with all the tartlets you'd want. it's wonderful that you support her so much, and i agree, i think the popularity of her bakery is going to shoot into the stratosphere this year, especially after catering parties like this" the success was well earned by claire and her baking skills. "please do, i adore those danishes. your angel of a wife used to send me batches of them when i was pregnant" she smiled "finger's crossed that we will be. we've worked so hard for it all"

"i reckon there'll be more people here sneaking away your leftover cakes than you'd think. i won't be alone in my frosting frenzy," he grinned, giving her another kiss on her perfect lips. man, he loved his life so damn much. "alright, alright... not losers. i'm so glad you're here to keep me good, baby. i'll hang up my trouble making hat when that day comes, though. let the kid take the reins."

"i hope you're right otherwise you'll have our work cut out for us with all the cakes we'll be eating. with all that sugar we'll be a dentists dream" she beamed, smiling in their kiss. how did she get so lucky? "you've always been good, and for the record, your troublemaking has always been perfect in my eyes. ah the cooper legacy continues, i can only imagine how the next gen will be."

"Oh good," Robbie mistakenly spoke above his breath rather than under it, but what else could one do when the twin sister of someone you extremely recently boned walks up and asks if you're enjoying the food? Spiral. Smile, and nod, and maybe stare down uncanny valley a bit too long, apparently, because now that Isabel was blonde, you could definitely kind of tell for sure that her and Quinn were in fact related. "Sorry, I mean- I was just thinking about..." He dropped his chicken drumsticks and held his hands up in defeat, "let's start again. Thank you! It's good to see you Quinn." Man, why couldn't he have a thing for Quinn instead? Not that he had a thing for anyone, but Quinn was nice. Good. Nothing demon-y about her. She was wishing him a happy birthday and didn't ever steal from him. "You're an angel." God.

quinn was a bit taken back at his initial response when she had approached him. then again, thanks to isabel divulging the information after the earthquake, quinn could take a guess on her sister being the reason for his reaction. she had no intention of bringing up her sister and making him feel embarrassed about anything, it wasn't in her nature to do that. "...how good the food is?" she offered him as an out of the hole he was digging himself into. "it's good to see you too. are you having a fun birthday?" she asked with a smile "i don't know if i'd say that"

"you're always too kind, odette. thank you," she added with a smile. felicity saw a future for herself in this town and it relied heavily on the close friendships she'd developed with people like the valentines. she so admired odette's poise, talent and success. "oh, that is very true. i'm hoping for something in the middle for mine, if we're lucky. elena and ava are already pushing each other's buttons... i'm sure isabel and quinn will be the very best of friends and sisters. wonderful! their grandparents will love having them. they're so well, thank you. elena and benjy are angels, thankfully. they are all in the other room with the sitters, i'll be through to check on them again soon."

"anything for you" there were people that odette would extend her kindness to, and there were people that she would go above and beyond for; felicity fell into the latter category. "siblings will argue, hopefully they'll figure it out as they get older. i think my two will be. i think their personalities will be worlds apart but the bond will be there. the girls love being there as much as my parents love having them, it's been a godsend for sebastian and i while we're working. ah, at least they're close enough that you can check on them and if there are any issues you're near by. i'm sure everything will be peaceful for you to be able to enjoy this stunning ball you've put on"

"that would be divine, thank you claire. i'm so pleased for you and the bakery, that is such exciting news. we'll have to have you and chuck over for dinner after the holidays, too. yes, let's," she breathed at last, looping their arms and leading them over to the bar. felicity thought it was all going rather well, so far (touch wood). "do you have any plans for over the holidays?"

"anything for you, you know that. thank you, it's been a really wonderful experience. ooh yes, we'd love that. we'll have to have you and the family over as well." walking through the crowd towards the bar, claire admired felicity's efforts of the party "not much, we'll have all the family together and mini cooper can have the time of his life with his grandparents who will spoil him to no end. what's the plans for you and your family?"

Arriving at the diner just a tad later than the already late birthday boy, Isabel manoeuvred her way through Sal's, doing everything in her power to keep her eyes off Robbie as he attempted to consume an entire platter of party food. Honestly, she felt the urge to do the same, but she opted to wait, instead heading to the counter to order a beer. Her hand kept lifting to her hair, too aware of the blonde or concerned that it was more tousled than it should be? Who's to say? "Wait, does Sal's still do shots or was that just a fever dream I had?"

she almost walked by her twin when he had arrived at sal's. she saw the back of her head and it didn't register that she had changed her hair colour. letting out a gasp, she stopped and grabbed her sisters hand "izzy, your hair, it looks so good!" she grinned.

Having arrived fashionably late to his own birthday party / 4th July celebrations at Sal's as one so often does, Robbie's mission was now twofold; pretend to be unbothered by the existence of Isabel Valentine for the rest of the day, and avoid Joey Salvatore at all costs, forever. Easy as pie. Speaking of, "I'm starving," he announced before practically lunging at the party food, adding a third layer to his mission involving fistfuls of beige food. "God bless America. "Wait... Hold on, can we back up for just a second? Did you just say 'the best night of your life'!? As in the best night of your life? Your life?" Faye could hardly catch her breath she was so shocked by all this information! Never in her life had she expected Isabel Valentine to spend the best night of her life with Robbie Wilson (Jr.). She simply could not compute what was going on here! Was it just... what? Some fluke? Did she like him? Isabel had never really liked Robbie. At least, not in high school. Faye was about to pick her jaw up off the floor when she realised what Isabel had asked Quinn.

She had been so preoccupied with Isabel's confession that she hadn't properly processed what Quinn looked like. "Quinn, ohmygosh, are you okay? I- You... You look like you've been to hell and back. What is going on today?" @itsquinnvalentine

quinns jaw dropped at isabel's confession. was this the twilight zone? "yeah...yeah, let's back up to that bit" quinn said, pointing over at faye to back her up. "the best night of your life, huh" she looked over to her sister, amusement written all over her face. "i don't know izzy, sit him down and be honest with him? it's going to suck and it'll hurt him, but i think your honesty would be valued."

what she didn't expect was for isabel to spin the conversation to her. shit. "oh...um...yes, i'm fine...thanks to noah" she started, testing the waters. she wasn't sure how much more information the three of them could take until their brains exploded, but fuck it. in the morning of confessions, quinn took a breath and blurted everything out "he was walking me home when everything hit, managed to get to our house, izzy wasn't home, went looking for izzy, got to joey's, got attacked by a werewolf, noah got hurt saving my life from said werewolf, got noah to safety and i stayed with him to make sure he was healed until i got your message this morning and i sprinted out here to check you both were okay" she finished he rambling, gasping for a breath. hopefully the quicker she got through it, the less they'd question it. "sooo...what about you faye?"

Noah didn't like that Quinn had gone on ahead of him, but he supposed that any danger would be coming from behind and not from inside Joey Salvatore's home. It was against all of his natural instincts to be the one in the path of danger, but somehow it still made him feel better to know that any attack would likely reach him before it got to her–and he would be damned if he was going to let anything touch her. Still half watching the street, Noah followed her into the Salvatore home, not loving how quiet it was. Where were his parents? And Keith? Didn't they also have a toddler? He felt her hand reach for his before her words registered. Turning his attention to the top of the stairs, his heart dropped.

His grip tightened on the hand that had reached back for him and he slowly pulled Quinn back. "Behind me." He whispered, sounding a lot more confident than he felt as his eyes remained locked on the huge dark brown wolf at the top of the staircase. The movement was enough to catch their attention, but it wasn't until Noah took a step back that it lunged down the stairs towards them. He didn't even think before pulling Quinn from behind him to push her further into the house as the wolf collided with him, and sent him flying backwards into the garden. Noah screamed in pain as the wolf's claws tore into him as it landed on top of him, and he was sure he would've lost his head in that moment if another growl hadn't sounded from over the fence.

Noah's head dropped to the side to see Thomas Willows–was he yelling something about Joey?–and the wolf pushed off of him, disappearing from his line of view. He thought Thomas might have said more–not to him, but maybe to Quinn?–Quinn. His attention left the other wolf that he had barely even said 'hello' to in the past and tried to focus on the figure in the doorway. "Quinn! Quinn, are you–... Did you–... Okay?" He needed to know she was safe, but he had never experienced pain like this. His shifter abilities would already be kicking in to heal him, but they weren't like the other supernaturals; it would take time. "Quinn?"

noah was right, they should’ve stayed back at her house and she’ll let him tell her ‘i told you so’ for the rest of their days. quinn moved at his instruction with each step more cautionary than the last until she was behind him. if they could get out the door without triggering the wolf they’d be home free. it was never going to be that easy. 

before she could react, she was shoved to safety and watched in horror as noah was speared into the garden and his wails following. “noah!” she screamed. quinn rushed to her feet and found any nearby object with weight and launched them at the wolf to get its attention away from him. It wasn’t smart but anything was better than watching noah get torn to shreds. thankfully, the wolfs attention diverted to something else and off it ran into the distance. 

she was immediately by his side, eyes darting over his wounds “noah! noah! oh my god! i’m so sorry, th-this is all my fault” she cried, her hands trembling covered in crimson as she pressed them to the gashes on his skin “i-i’m okay, but you're- here...stay still…” she pulled her sweatshirt off and held the fabric against him “you scared the life out of me.” she frantically looked around. they were sitting ducks out in the open “i need to get you out of here. how bad is the pain? can you move at all?”

Noah was sure he would never understand this insane need people had to put themselves in danger for the sake of other people, but he wasn't going to question her on it–nor would he be thinking too long on why, despite his mindset, he was willing to do the same to make sure Quinn was safe. "Okay. As long as it keeps you off the ground, that's fine by me." It would be a simple mission with minimal risk, so long as they stuck with the plan. "Thank me when I get you back home." He almost reached out to touch her arm, but instead leaned past her to open the door. "Stay close."

And with that, he shifted into a blue jay and flew into the sky. Despite wanting to take the most direct route to Joey's house, Noah made sure to loop past the more congested areas of Havensdale just in case Isabel really was out here somewhere. He even navigated through two of the three forests, but there was no sign of her. Finally reaching Joey's street, Noah swooped down and landed in his human form, noting that things seemed a little too quiet as he waited for Quinn to land beside him. "I say we check with Joey first, then go next door to Jesse's in case she's with Faye, and then we get out of here. Okay?"

if it wasn't for noah convincing her to stick with him for safety, quinn would've already been out the door and likely right into the nearest form of trouble that could find her. he was right, they were safer together, even if she would've preferred him staying indoors for his own safety. she could feel her cheeks heat up at how close he was standing to her, leaning past her to the door. gearing up for their search, quinn nodded.

following closely behind, she opted for a green jay and followed his lead. she wasn't as skilled in the air but skilled enough to keep up and get her from point a to point b in one piece. she kept an eye out for her sister through each of the flybys but there was no luck and that didn't settle the worry. maybe she was at joey's and they could all laugh about this in a less danger filled time. quinn shifted as she landed, looking over to check to see if he was okay. "deal. if she's not at joey's or jesse's then we head back. we shouldn't be out here long" determined to find isabel, quinn walked on until she found herself at joey's half opened door. she gave a knock out of courtesy, peeking her head in to see if anyone was around. "joey? izzy? anyone around?" she called out, venturing into the home and walking around to see if anyone was present. something about it didn't feel right, she didn't like the feeling it was giving her. it was too quiet. not just empty house quiet, eerily quiet. the feeling screamed bad. it screamed get out. her eyes reached the top of the stairs and she slowly reached her hand out to him, her voice hushed "noah...no sudden movements..."

"i know," he whispered, holding her tighter and wishing more than ever before that they could stay like this. that he could stay. he couldn't see a way out of it, a way to free himself from juliette's influence. he couldn't see a way out where he didn't get the people he loved hurt. it was bad enough what juliette had done to everyone who had been there that night. it was bad enough what she had done to isabel. the thought turned his stomach and he found himself slowly pulling back from quinn. sweet quinn. he couldn't risk her too. "i wish i could stay longer."

she didn't want him retreating. quinn held him tighter, hoping that it would convince him to stay, even if it was a little longer. she didn't want to lose her him again. her heart dropped when he implied he was leaving "why can't you?" she asked, trying to cling onto any morsel of her friend before she lost him again. "you can stay. i'll be here. whatever it is i'm right here and we'll all look after you, we'll protect you"

"That's so cool," Faye whispered as if even talking about something so top-secret could get them in trouble. She was aware that what the underground was like was so not the point but... curiosity, right? Besides, it was the scene of the crime! Faye nodded eagerly when she mentioned Jamie, her heart squeezing at the very thought of her in the hospital. Or, like, whatever they had down there. She was so worried about her. Very little could have distracted from that feeling. And then Isabel said that.

"With Robbie? Wilson? Junior!?" the shock on Faye's face was undeniable and she couldn't help the way her voice raised about a hundred octaves. Of all the unbelievable things that had happened in the last 3 years, under this freaking dome, this was the last thing she ever expected to hear. Isabel and Robbie. Robbie and Isabel. Maybe they'd fallen into an alternate dimension or something. That could have been what that big shake last night had really done, right? Faye was too busy blinking, her brain buffering as she tried to process what the hell was going on, to say anything else. She shook her head, looking from Isabel to Quinn. "I- Wait, my brain is totally melting right now. I mean, the point is that it did happen. And maybe that's a sign, right? If you and Joey aren't in fake real love by now then... why not call it quits?" @itsquinnvalentine

quinn wasn't sure what almost sent her flying off her chair. was it the ordeal of the evening she went through? the influx of information? the volume of fayes voice that pierced her eardrums? who isabel happened to spend her night with? the last one certainly sent quinns jaw to the floor. she was stunned into silence. never in all her days did she think this conversation was going to unfold in front of her the night after the town tried to cave in on itself. quinn looked at isabel, to faye, to isabel again and she still couldn't get it registering in her brain. once her brain finally managed to catch up with the conversation, she nodded in agreement with faye "izzy...i think you should tell him. the guilt would eat at you if you tried to ignore it. you're better than that. imagine how you'd feel if he had done that to you." @i-sabelvalentine

Deborah shook her head, briefly resting a hand on Odette's arm. "No, I absolutely cannot. I don't even want to think about how stressful this must have been to plan!" She was in absolute awe of her friends for having managed to pull this together. "I'm actually shocked they invited Andrea–have you seen the way she's been eyeing the ice sculptures? She's just as stressful as the planning, I'd imagine!"

"i don't know how they find the time never mind the patience. it's impressive." she agreed along with deborah. the montgomery's had pulled out all the stops and it was a marvel. "she's family, she would always get an invite. felicity has already warned her about the ice sculptures, seb and i have a bet going that one of them will be smashed within the hour"
